Weird Hybrid: ALU Power/Kirsch Pro Line 2

So I have all these packs of Kirschbaum Pro Line 2, but after hitting with with Luxilon ALU Power I miss the extra spin it provides.

I was thinking of an all poly hybrid with ALU in the mains and PL2 in the crosses. Pro Line 2 is one of the softest polys around so it might turn out to be fairly comfortable. But since it's still an all poly job I was thinking of a low tension such as 51/53.

Anyone have any thoughts on this? Is it ridiculous? Anyone try something similar? The setup isn't that different from the ALU Touch Hybrid set that Luxilon offers, since both are polyesters in that set.

Thoughts?

I honestly haven't tried this but I'm actually experimenting with strings right now and I was planning on doing that because of the good reviews on the pro line. I play with alu power on the mains and nxt tour on the crosses. One of my friends has tried that setup though and he's in love with it.

I just did a search on an alu/nxt hybrid and found that most didn't like the durability of the nxt against the alu, though the playability was great. I'm actually surprised you know someone who has tried the alu/pl2 setup. I was sure I was the only guy.

I'm glad to see he loves that setup though. I'm going to try it my next go 'round.

it's true about the durability though. it does have great playability but the alu frays the nxt horribly. i guess using string savers would help but i'm testing out which strings best suits me. let me know how the alu/pl2 setup works. thinking about trying it myself

Well I have a drawer full of Pro Line 2 so I hope it's a good combo. I think it will be. The Pro Line 2 should soften the string bed considerably. It will be spin crazy for sure.

I'll let you know how it works out.
