We are currently testing some new Weiss Cannon strings and will most likely be stocking them soon. Pretty sure Explosiv was one of them.

Any updates on the release date of these strings? I would much rather spend my money at TW than at some random internet site. Really want to try these out!!

I recently strung up a pair of vantage 100s and a pair of turbo sharks with full explosiv!, following manufacturer instructions and stringing it 10% higher. It's a very, very good multi. Moves all over the place, but holds tension like a champ. Very comfortable, lively, and a unique feel compared to the polyurethane saturated technifibre feel (NRG2) or the so stiff I-can't-believe-it's-a-multi-feel of laserfibre supreme.

I'm recovering from some poly induced tennis elbow (a year in the making, but here all the same) and sprung for the reel. At 8 or 9 bucks a set, this string is good enough that my old natural gut hybrids aren't even on my radar at the moment.

Best multi I've ever played - both when strung fresh and over multiple sessions. If you play multis, you owe it to yourself to at least try a set.

OP,
I too am interested in trying this string as I have elbow problem induced by poly use. Love the control they give but not the pain.

Was the Explosiv very powerful and what tension did you string it at?

The last time I used full multi (PS Maxim Touch at 55lbs) my racquet felt like a rocket launcher. Full BA at 55lbs gave me so much control... but also a bad elbow!

Your first problem is you're stringing poly and multi at the same tension. If you like poly at 55, you should be stringing multis around 60. Explosiv recommends stringing an additional 10% above that, so 66, in your case.

I typically run poly around 52, and am running the Explosiv around 62. At these two tensions, there might be slightly more pop than the poly, and significantly less spin. But it's nothing you can't adjust to.

BTW, in my own case, I found a flexier stick with full poly was still more comfortable than a stiffer one with multi. When this string job dies, I'm going to try the flexy stick with multi and see how that goes.

I just ordered some of this string from another website and let me tell you, it is the best string that I have ever played with. I really hope that TW stocks this so I can buy from them.

TW, any update on whether you're planning on stocking the WC Explosiv, especially the Reels?

Thanks!
