Weiss cannon ultra cable durability

Hi, has anybody played with WCUC until its breakage? If so, r u commenting on the durability from an amateur's or a pro's POV? I'm also curious about how it compares to the other shaped polys in terms of durability (focus hex, tour bite, cyclone, rpm blast, hyper-g...).

I’ve used it for over 2yrs as my main. Love it. Soft poly, sharp bite. I like it with a slick cross to get a good snap back. The crosses slickness wears out first before I lose anything on the Weiss. It’s softer than tour bite and rpm blast for sure

Ultra Cable is the most durable poly string I have played with. Part of that is due to how thick the string is, but it is also very resistant to notching.

I can get about 7-8 hours out of 1.20 Cyclone Tour and about 10-12 hours out of Silver 7 Tour in an 18x19 racquet. Ultra Cable lasts twenty hours and is still not imminently going to break, but also by then the playing characteristics have degraded and it needs to be cut out anyway. If I did play with it until breakage, it would probably last close to 30 hours.

Thank you for the insight. I also read your comments here: https://tt.tennis-warehouse.com/index.php?threads/testing-weiss-cannon-ultra-cable.659931/

That was my first test with it in an 18x19, 104 square inch frame. The latest posts from this April were in a 16x19, 112 square inch frame. Tension loss is greater than average but a dense string pattern seems to offset changes in rebound angle. Definitely by 20 hours in an OS 16x19 frame, Ultra Cable has changed enough to warrant cutting it out. Also back in early 2020, I was going through a bad bout of wrist pain and Ultra Cable let me continue to play while that resolved due to its pretty comfy nature. I wanted to test Ultra Cable again in my SW104 skipping the second to last mains hoping to keep the weight down but I haven't had that opportunity yet.

I realized I also didn't answer your last question in your original post. I'm USTA 4.5 rated and a pretty hard hitter overall. Here's the last video I posted to the forum so you can see how much my impressions may apply to how you hit the ball.
