What about switching the Yonex vcore 98 by the vcore pro 100

Hi everyone, what do you think of switching the yonex vcore 98 (2019) by the yonex vcore pro 100 (2021), I am a 42 year old intermediate (3) player, but still lacks depth and some slides hit the net often, so that's why my interest in going to 100s. Stiffness and overall performance my main concern. Thanks in advance

Why not the ezone 100? Thats exactly an easy depth racquet with enough control.

I played with older pro100 for year+. It is stiff and not great in general. For me it worked nicely because I was changing my strokes with pro97 in mind and 100 version gave me similar feel/stiffness. Now when I need to fix something I go back to dr100, not pro100.

Yes, something in my mind told me that ! , what about the ezone 98, Im worry about loosing too much control. Actually, I have not tried a Ezone ever, is not much popular where I live (Ecuador). No demos either. Do you know if during Indian Wells, racket brands allow visitors to try their equipment?

Huh, Ezone98 is the best (all-time-favourite) Yonex racquet for most (full swing) intermediates... its hard to tell how much troubles you have with vcore98. Ezone is similar but definitely has more power and more forgiving. But not as much as Ezone100.

Here is my experience. I prefer Ezone98 and pro97 the most, having so much fun with those and can compete effectively. Sometimes I go back to Ezone100 to fix things and it feels sooo less fun, BUT it has ALWAYS been getting me same or better results in tourneys. Seems like its just giving me few extra points on stability when i'm nervous etc. So if your priority is hitting the shots you like - go ezone98. If you care for results - ezone100 will do best.

IndianWells usually has racquet demos, but its a waste of time to be honest, short time, random string and tension... don't bother. If Yonex works for you - you can't got wrong with Ezone.

Thanks a lot, you give lots of information. Well, make me switch to Ezone, which is good. Now, the new voice inside me says 98 or 100 … to be continued

I switched from the VCore 98 (2021) to the new VCore Pro 100. I lacked consistency with the VCore 98 and the Pro 100 did the trick. I love it. I'm 48 but quite big and I like to take big swings on the ball, and the Pro 100 hit my sweet spot. Contrary to one of the replied above, the new Pro 100 is very flexible and has a soft feel to it. I think it might be quite deferent in that respect to the older models. I also tested the VCore 100 (too much power), the new Ezone 100 (also quite powerful, but more controlled than the VCore 100; my wife uses the EZone 100, it's a great racket), and the new Ezone 98 (I almost went with this; I liked it a lot but felt I achieved better consistency, though perhaps sacrificing a big of spin potential, with the Pro 100. I recently switch back to the VCore 98 during a recent hitting session and that just reminded me that I made the right choice in switching to the Pro 100.

I would suggest Ezone 98 or 100 as well
Vcore Pro is going to give you more control, sure, but you'll be longing for some extra help after the first week.

Ezone is what you're looking for. Demo the 98 first.
more control than the vcore 98

fwiw we really need to know strings and tension as well.
that is a huge player here

so, I am kind of on the verge of adding one of the above to my tennis bag. demoed VCore Pro 100L (still waiting for VCore Pro 100 to demo it) and Ezone 98, but made a mistake and bought Yonex Ezone 100. a bit to stiff and way too powerful for me. VCore Pro 100L was good, classic feel with modern access to good spin. but lacked a bit of the weight. still cannot get rid of the feeling, that I already found my racket with Ezone 98 but would like to test the VCore Pro 100 first.

currently playing with Head Gravity S, which I love, but would need a little bit more power ... control level is great, but a little bit of power, so I can pull off those tough defensive shots when you are squeezed into a corner or far behind the baseline ...
