Well...I Found this good site that tells me how to get fit, and condition for tennis. And also, if I wanted to, get bigger. I'm sure all of these workouts on the site are legit and good, but I don't understand what sets and reps are. Could anyone help?

If it says do 5 sets of 5 reps. What does that mean?

    What are sets?
    What are reps?

    THanks for all the help.

eehh reps=repetitions meaning how many times you should do an exercise.Sets are the sets of the repetitions with some time intervening in between for rest.
So in total you should do the exercise 25 times.5 times rest 5 times rest 5 times rest 5 times rest 5 times END.
    I hope I helped.:)

you need to do 5 sets of 5 reps. a rep is each time you do a single lift. so if you were doing pushups, you would do 5 in a row, which would be 5 reps. you would do that a total of 5 times to end up doing 5 sets of 5 reps.

The one thing that hasn't been mentioned is rest in between sets. So 5 sets of 5 reps, or 5X5, means you're going to be lifting heavy. It means that you're going to be using a weight that you struggle to lift up the 5th time you lift it. After you've lifted it 5 times, you rest as much as you need, then lift it again 5 times. That's your second set. You do five sets total.

So you're lifting this weight 25 times total, but in increments of 5 so you get enough rest.

if you complete 5 REPS, you have completed 1 SET. You take a short rest and start the next SET which would be another 5 REPS. Hope you got it!
