What are the highest level tennis you've seen Alcaraz as well as Sinner play?

I'm often quite bad at remembering matches I've watched.
Which are the matches were both of these guys played their highest level?
I was quite often stunned at the level, when they faced each other, so which was their H2H match, where the overall level was highest?
But also ones where they didn't face each other. I'm interested in ones, where the level of tennis was highest moreso than winning through sheer will power or something like that.

Difficult to answer, perhaps we saw the best Alcaraz during the Indian Wells 2023 tournament, he looked like an alien.
But I would also add Wimbledon 2023, Indian Wells 2024 and the semi-final and final of Wimbledon 2024 to the debate.
If I have to take a single match I'll go with the Indian Wells 2023 final, Medvedev demolished with an all-out five-star ultra-luxury game.

As for Sinner, I basically already answered in the thread I opened about the peak reached in 2024 which was by far his best season.
So I say Turin 2024 ahead of Miami 2024 and just behind Australian Open 2024.
If I have to choose the individual performances here too it is a fight between the Australian Open semi-final against Djokovic, the Miami final against Dimitrov and the Turin semi-final against Ruud.
Special mention for the Miami 2023 semi-final against Alcaraz, the round robin match against Djokovic in Turin 2023, but also the Vienna 2023 final against Medvedev, one of the matches with the highest intensity of exchanges I have ever seen.

But perhaps we can all agree by identifying the quarter-final of the US Open 2022 where both gave life to a match of the highest quality. :)

The Beijing match was incredible. In terms of consistently high level from beginning to end I feel like that was surely the best match they've had.

In terms of not against each other... I don't know, there's a lot. Alcaraz has had a few against Tsitsipas where he absolutely dismantled him. Norrie too. Sinner was amazing in his run through Wimbledon in 2023. Most of his indoor matches this year and last were very worth watching too.

To me, real quality is when the mental aspect of it is as important as the literal tennis itself, so Alcaraz's two Wimbledon finals are the ones that continue to impress me most. For Sinner, I think the Shanghai final this year was very grown up. The 6 Kings match with Djokovic right after it too.

Alcaraz against Sinner - Beijing 2024 final.
He was humiliated on this very court a year ago by Sinner on the enhanced Italian's favourite surface. And there he came, could've easily won with a considerably lopsided scoreline of 63 63 or something with that high level of tennis, but a win is a win regardless.

Sinner against Alcaraz - Umag 2022 final.

Alcaraz against Non-Sinner - Def. Djokovic in Wimbledon 2023 Final.
He's never employed better tennis brain & IQ in his entire career till date, compared to what he did in this match after being butchered in the first set.

Sinner against Non-Alcaraz - Def. Djokovic in YEC 2023 RR.

Another great Alcaraz one was his US Open match with Baez. An absolute freakin' war for 2 sets where he just outscrapped him all the way, and straight up broke the poor dude.

Sinner= entire 2024 WTF. He destroyed everybody without dropping a set, evidenced by his 1.62 dominance ratio. That’s an impressive dominance ratio against the top 8 in the world. Also, serving 41 aces against only 1 fault is obscene.

Alcaraz: 2024 Wimbledon. He served like a madman. Djoker even said that. Alcaraz was on fire that day.

His Roland Garros 2023 run was also magical all the way through.
except that one Taro Daniel set we don't talk about that one

ugh i loved that match so much, i was so sad when Baez had to retire

in general i'd say IW '23, Wimbly '23, RG '23, Miami '22, and Madrid '22 for Alcaraz (in that order), and YEC '24, Miami '24, USO '24, Vienna '23, and Beijing '23 for Sinner (in that order)

The US Open 22 final was a thrilling match! Sinner and Alcaraz battled it out, with Sinner holding a match point before Alcaraz rallied to victory. It was an incredible display of skill and determination from both players.

Oh, man, yes, Madrid '22. Beating those three dudes on three successive days like that, and the Djokovic match still surely one of the matches of his life.

USO is on pure quality, only rivaled by the recent Beijing encounter between the two.

Beijing 2023 was insane from Sinner, as was AO 2024. Also the best he's played in a match against Alcaraz (Beijing).

Fwiw, with both playing freer, the indoor Riyadh match was amazing too for two sets.

For Alcaraz, his entire early 22 stretch, the two Wimbledons (finals in particular), Laver Cup 2024, that match against Kek at AO, the RG 23 run are some that come to mind.

Honorable mention: Wimbledon 22 match between these two.

Unfortunately, I don’t think we will ever see Alcaraz’ full potential as long as he stays with JCF. He needs a Lendl or a Federer as coach.

JCF doesn’t even take notes during matches. He just sits there and cries when Carlos wins a tournament.

A Lendl or a Federer would have pointed out: “this is the amount of points you lost because you wanted to entertain the crowd. Now, If your ambition is to entertain the crowd, you should have hired Bahrami”!!

Yeah he's contrary to popular opinion, the most coach-less a player with coach can be.

Carlos wanted to entertain the crowd so made it 5 sets:rolleyes:

LOL Bahrami
But it would be cool to see Bahrami coaching a high-quality player for me. tennis is getting more boring as each day passes.
