Hover around top20.
Nothing more.
Even at his best, he was the 4th best to pretty ancient big3 and required Herculean choking from Roger & Sascha in order to win his 2 biggest titles. So now, with wrist injury, being such a physical player, I don't think his ceiling is higher than lower to mid tier of top 20.
The guy has power, potential but not the execution and tennis IQ, also the lack of fire on the biggest ocassions

Not very optimistic, tbh. He isn't Federer or Nadal, I doubt he can come back strong after such a long absence. Especially after a wrist injury. In AO 2021 he didn't even look injured but was very far from his best level of play. I have a feeling winning this USO had a negative effect, he has not been the same since then. Zverev had a completely opposite trajectory in comparison. Losing this final is the best thing that happened to him.

1. Will he win a grand slam?If Yes how many? Zero
2. How many Masters 1000 titles?Mention the ones? Zero. Maybe 1 or 2 deep runs like Madrid this year.
3. How many Grand slam Semis he will reach? Maximum one, in RG or USO
4. Year end ranking expectations? Maybe between #7 and #10 if he can play the entire year injury free rack up points everywhere. WTF would be a great result for him after what he went through this year. But wouldn't be surprised if he is out of top-10.

I hope he returns to being the Domi Thiem we know and love. Tennis could use another strong horse near the top of the game.

My expectations are pretty moderated, though.

I'm expecting nothing. I was already pretty vocal about him declining even before the wrist injury, plus his head wasn't in the game at all for reasons I've heard whispered about.

Now the wrist, and his movement was never the best anyway, plus his age...can't see him threatening the top guys at this point. Zod should have beat him at USO and the young guys have taken big steps since then. He'll have his hands full

We've seen with guys like Murray and Stan that after their injuries they were never the same. Stan transformed from a slam contender to "only" a top 20 player. I see something similar happening to Thiem.

In the past he has performed better against Nadal and Novak than the new top players
he suffered from not being able to beat 2 big 3 in a row, beating one in semifinals left him drained for the final

Ever since he won the US Open last year he just wasn't the same, even up to his wrist injury, no fight, no motivation, it seemed he was reliving winning the US Open. Tennis never stops, it goes on and on and living in the past doesn't help your career.

Maybe his injury could be a blessing in disguise so he can recapture that fire again, mind you next year he will be 29 which in Non-Goat terms is old.

he will beat novak at the french open

I think it will be more mental than anything. Hopefully he comes back only if his wrist is fully healed. There have been enough cases of tennis players with chronic wrist problems (Delpo being the one everyone knows about on the men’s side, and Bencic also had some issues a few years ago), that Thiem knows not to come back until he’s fully ready. If even Dimitrov could have some good performances this year, then I think a healthy (and mentally recharged) Thiem will be competitive against the top guys.

Bad start in Australia, decent performance in IW/Miami, solid play on clay, weak on grass and decent in the summer/Fall. 2-3 small tournament wins, maybe 1 Masters title/final, 1 Slam final and a top 10 finish. Will be fighting hard at the end of the season to get into the WTF Turin tournament.

Might get to the semis of Kitzbühel and Vienna. Otherwise, nothing. Expect him to lose early in most of the clay Masters and crash out at RG the first week.
