What ATP #1 Do You Think Had the Aesthetically Ugliest Game?

Courier, probably. Roddick at his best was an exciting player to watch, even if he would rank among the worst #1s.

For those who would say Rafa just watch this rafa as right handed, his forehand looks so beautiful if you view as right handed since majority of tour is righty it looks best in that way

The thing is he's hitting the forehand differently here compared to the way he usually does, it's not just the mirror effect.

Roddick a close 2nd to Courier IMO. Only thing that saves him is his explosive, hyper-efficient serve which I find thoroughly satisfying. The rest of his game, not so much.
Of course Nadal deserves a mention in the conversation.

Courier. Backhand was a horrible looking baseball swipe. Forehand didn't look much better.

Serve had that weird thing going on with this tossing hand that made him look like he had a disability.

Sir Andy Murray.

The worst of the worst !

With Nadal & Djokovic you could still see some insane hitting, some great angles and there is something to cheer for.

But in Murray's case there is nothing good about his game to please you, it is an ugly attempt to hit rallies and stay in the game, he is happy to keep the ball in play and run whole day, totally nonsense game.

A little harsh... but true.

The baseball comparison is spot on.

Please also invert the advertising banners in the background, so I may agree with what you are saying.

After analyzing this subject in depth, I have come to the conclusion that every player who has reached the ATP#1 position since inception has an awful game, except for Roger Federer.

Serve: Connors

By modern standards it was a bit of a pat but I thought it looked reasonably nice.

Edberg's serve was pretty ugly. The odd looking starting position of the racquet (FAA has found a way to make it look even worse), then the big rotatation backwards, particularly how much he turned his head, followed by the right arm flapping around like it wasn't entirely under his control even though clearly it was. The effect it had as it popped off the racquet was something else, mind.

Novak's serve was bloody awful looking for much of 2010 but he wasn't #1 at the time. His serve as a #1 player has always looked decent..

If we're talking about the serve bit... I know some people would disapprove (not least my wife who works with disabled children) but after deliberating over it I just couldn't come up with another way of describing it!

I thought Edberg's serve looked awesome. Iconic, beautiful.
