I Would be surprised they speak to each other except occasionally on ATP governing matters.I'd be surprised if they even spoke.
Agreed. Rafa probably didn't even watch it.I'd be surprised if they even spoke.
Nadal will get a big boost from it I feel. I don’t think it makes much difference to Fed at his age and will struggle to be a factor anywhere now. For Nadal though it gives him a chance to win the slam race again especially if Novak loses AustraliaWhat would they have to celebrate? Neither won a Slam this year while their rival won 3 to tie them, broke Federer's weeks record and won a double career Slam, which they don't have. I would expect them to have been relieved he didn't win the CYGS to completely overshadow them, but there's really nothing for them to celebrate.

It’s a reminder how things in tennis can fast. Like when djoko won 4 in a row in 2016. He then went on a slump and things get even tougher now as he’s older. Same for Nadal too but he still will always a good chance at the french open due to him being the clay king. We'll see but I don't think much has changed within the dynamic of the big 3 after this match. It would have if Djokovic won though.

I think he deserves to be favourite at Australia and Wimbledon but I’m just speaking realistically. I’m not upset just see it as natural that things will change and it time for the younger guys to take over soon. You need to cheer up and stop looking for the worst scenario. Djokovic lost. It was a tough loss but he is still the best player in the world. One day, that won't be the case but it still is today. One loss after a brutal draw and dealing with the pressure of CYGS doesn't change that. He will be fine and go on to achieve more, and this will only make him work harder to reach his goal.

I’m actually not even sad at his loss and think Novak’s career is sensational and he doesn’t have anything more to prove.
Novak touched on saying he’s not sure when he will play next and he wants to spend even more time with family. He doesn’t need to play on for many years if he doesn’t want to. He will play slams but the same for him and the big 3 is they have nothing left to prove or achieve.
Exactly right.Yea he won't dominate forever but he is still in great position to end up with the Slam record. Like you said, even if he doesn't he still has had a legendary career and has nothing left to prove.
And a very boomer-y emoji.
Rafa probably didn't even say anything, probably left him on seen.
Nah he probably did, he's nursing his treated foot and can't do anything physical anyway.Agreed. Rafa probably didn't even watch it.
If only they managed to do what Djokovic did, but this way it sounds more than ignorant to bring it up.FED: Did you hear about Djo?
Nadal: .....
FED: Yep....
What would they have to celebrate? Neither won a Slam this year while their rival won 3 to tie them, broke Federer's weeks record and won a double career Slam, which they don't have.
The "double career slam", lol. Simply because it's been given a silly name doesn't add to its importance. And, each Big-3 has something that the others don't have at the slams, and Federer comes out ahead in that regards.
I would guess he is out on that mega yacht and not doing anything physical.Nah he probably did, he's nursing his treated foot and can't do anything physical anyway.
How exactly does anyone "overshadow" Federer and Nadal? If they're irrelevant with 20 slams, what does that make someone like Thiem or Andy Murray?I would expect them to have been relieved he didn't win the CYGS to completely overshadow them.

Prob nothing at all. In fact, I’m sure a part of them felt bad for Joker.
I very much doubt that lol
They can't really say much anymore. They won diddly...
20-20-20 seems they all did something. Too Djo how many years to catch up, and only when they both Fed and Nadal were supposedly past their prime? Hard case for COVID padded stats too.
Oh there's plenty to celebrate
Not for Fedal there isn't. This is a forgettable year for them.
Don't backtrack on what yesterday would have meant now lol, u know you're my boy but stop the nonsense. Djokovic winning would have been absolute hell for both. You're being dense if you don't think bottles got popped
But their self worth is not tied to Djokovic's failures. I guarantee you they don't think like that or like their fans. They're legendary tennis players who thrive on adding to their legacies, not depending on some short term elation when their rival, who's still had the better career, fails to leave them behind. Lol.
It might not be tied to his failures but it's certainly tied to his successes. All of a sudden the CYGS wouldn't have been a big deal lol, priceless
I never once said the CYGS was not a big deal. It would have been a huge deal. If Djokovic had won, he would forever have been on a level above Fedal. So the only thing Fedal are feeling right now is relief, like I said in my 1st comment. There is nothing for them to celebrate, espeically considering the year they had, and that right now Djokovic is still in the best position of the 3.
You're confusing your celebration with Nadal's imaginary one. Lol. The only thing he will be celebrating is if he gets to 21 before Djokovic does.
And now he can
Honestly, I wouldn't really mind that. It seems rather fitting, and unlikely to ever happen again, which would make it pretty cool.who knows...maybe the big 3 are destined to be at 20-20-20
Damn you must be popular to come up with that. I too used to be cool, never popular. Ok I was never cool…. I was good looking though. But not anymore. So why do I even exist anymore? Does my life even matter? And a very boomer-y emoji.
