Nadal proved one important thing: sportmanship and class.
The way he left the court means a lot.
It shows that if a big server gets hot on grass, no one is safe.
That in first week of Wimbledon surprises can happen. It almost happened to him twice 2 years ago vs Petschner and Haase,Federer almost lost against Falla or Djokovic almost lost to Rochus.None of those managed to cause the upset but the situation existed for that to happen.
hmm sportsmanship...like not playing to the server's pace, bumping rosol in the changeover or was it when he complained to the Umpire over nothing?
I really don't think there was anything he could have done today. Rosol was painting the lines with 90-100mph groundstrokes, and more importantly, didn't panic.
Also, hardly anyone knew who Rosol was before today, chances are there probably wasn't much information to go on for Nadal to prepare to play against him.
I think today was just one of those freak occurrences where a low ranked player hits big on everything and almost everything landed in, and he just happened to meet Nadal very early on. I think anyone could have lost against him today.
I think he proved the following:
10 slam finals in the row is amazing.
23 slam semis in the row is amazing.
32+ slam quarters in the row is amazing.
Federer is amazing.
I learned that Federer is the best player of the last 10-15 years.
He has consistently not lost to scrubs in early rounds.
Nadal proved he can´t win at indoor fast courts. Also that Sampras would eat him alive at Wimbledon 90's surface in straight sets.

I learned that Nadal is not that good on other surfaces where the ball bounces low and skids.

Exactly! And there are actually *********s on this board who claim that Nadal would have no trouble beating guys like Raonic, Isner or Karlovic at Wimbledon. I hope this result woke them up to reality. It shows that if a big server gets hot on grass, no one is safe.
Nadal proved that hitting flat >>> hitting loopy topspin.
On any court. Witness what Soderling did to Nadal at RG '09, what Del Potro did to Nadal at USO '09, and what Tsonga did to Nadal at AO '08.On a grass court, correct.

He proved his wimbledon titles are fluke.
Yes, and Nadal had absolutely no trouble beating Karlovic in that match, right? Wasn't it a double bagel? :roll:Nadal beat Karlovic in Queens and I'm pretty sure Queens is a bit faster than WB.
Easy. He proved that Djokovic will have more than 16 GSs before he ever does. Djokovic is the undisputed king of tennis right now.
