Hey Breakpoint, and other Vilas fans:

that stick in the above photo. Slazenger V24. What a frame. Anyone have an extra? I'd love to buy one.

For me, that was the top of the top of the mountain in terms of tennis racquet technology and feel. I wish open-throated, graphite inlaid frames in a conservative mid-headsize would have been the ITF's stopping point. Oh well.

I thought the stick in that photo was the Head Vilas. It sure looks like one to me.

Close. THe HEAD VIlas was black with red and gold stripes. THis one is burgundy with tan. This one also has a head that is 24 percent larger than a Vilas (pretty close to standard).

Note the panther stencil where his right hand is.
