What do you guys think about Djokovic's slice backhand?

Serve&Bash

Semi-Pro
It looks somewhat unorthodox to me, but I think its just because he has some extra movements that are part of his followthrough. Overall, I think its a very good slice. He gets good depth and low bounce on most of his slice shots. After Murray and Fed, does he have teh 3rd best slice in the top 10?

Definitely the best slice after Murray and Fed in the top 3.

Not bad, I prefer Murray's slice though. Also Murray's cross-court backhand is amazing - just like Djoko's down the line backhand:)

It's quite effective but also quite ugly. He looks a little off balance and unnatural when he hits it. It's definitely improved for him in the last couple of years though.

In all honesty, it's improved a fair bit. Not the most elegant shot ever, but it gets the job done for him as he uses it to change the pace of some rallies. It's not a Murray or Federer slice, but all that really matters is that it fits well within the parameters of his own game.

I cant stand Djokovic but even as a hater i have to say that his slice has improved massively from like 1-2 years ago. The way he hits it looks awkward but its effective. I wish Murray would work as hard on fixing his serve as Novak did on his slice.

Good enough to get by, not close to Murray, Federer, and Tomic. Better than it used to be. Also handles other players' slices better than in the past.

As evidenced in the difference in number of likes between his and your post.
What can I say? Sarcasm is obviously much appreciated on these boards but posts like that one just seem a bit cringe worthy and desperate to me. Whatever floats your boat I guess.

It's become very solid, and one of the most important reasons I don't think Roger will threaten him much in their matches from now on.

He has definitely improved it a lot, but I think Wawrinka and Nadal are solidly on his level on the slice, with Federer and Murray above.

I think some of Nadal's best slice BH's are still a bit better than Djokovic's as well. And Wawrinka does have a nice one. I thought it was very good in the RG final even though you mostly saw him smash FH's and BH's.

I think in the Montreal final nearly every slice exchange he had with Murray ended up with Djokovic gaining the upper hand.

I do think Djoko's slice is underrated, maybe because he looks so awkward executing the shot
