Misiti, I really applaud your honesty. In my years as a trainer, I trained, worked out with and beside so many users, the vast majority of which were not athletes but simply wanted to look better. Of course another misconception is that they were not all "huge". Some didn't want to get that big, some were using them to lose fat and some just didn't get much out of it. I tried not to judge them too much as I needed them to be honest with me. It's illegal but the law here will not do anything about it, (lol, actually our local police force were some of the worst abusers!) so it comes down to a personal choice when it's about your appearance. You must decide whether the pros outweight the cons for you. I urged people to think about their values, but in the end I would tell them it's their body and their decision. The only people I had trouble tolerating were those who knew me well and continually pretended not to use. For me it came down to "hey, I know you use, I've seen your results, I know the guy who sells it to you, why do you think you can BS me? If you want to deny it once, fine, I won't press you, but stop going out of your way to try to convince me you're not. I KNOW exactly what you bought, your "source" told me!" lol
To me, the saddest thing about the rampant usage for appearance is that it fosters an artificial image of what is "normal" and what is "natural". People would say "gee, I dont' want to look like Mr. Olympia, I just want to look like a men's cover model." Well, great, I've heard models admit that to keep their condition many have to use steroids. It's not natural for the majority of people to walk around with large muscles and 6% percent body at any time let alone year round. No wonder people, especially young people are feeling the pressure.
I can't say why Coria was using. My guess is probaby for strength(not a naturally strong guy), recovery(always helpful for the athlete particularly in tennis which often demands a very heavy work load day after day) and/or injury recovery.
