What happened to Jack Sock?

I saw that he made the finals in mixed, how did he do ? I have to say if he loses in the finals playing with the best woman on the tour that's not so great.

He just hosted a pickleball tournament at his home club in North Carolina. He is trying to get back to where he was in tennis, but itś not easy. He has dropped a lot of weight and he looks physically fit. So, heś making some money with pickleball while he continues to train for tennis.

Apparently he won the mixed doubles, but it sounds like Waters carried him. I like the part of the article where it complains about the final getting bumped for a Cornhole tournament though.

Why can't Jack make a come back? Was his injury so great? Did he make too much money too quickly? Or was his style too easy after a couple of years to pick apart?
He moved to pickleball, like everyone else in America has.

Both Sock and ALW sucked in the first game but Jack really picked it up in the 2nd and 3rd and dominated more then ALW.

Sock has made over $100k on the ATP Tour this year, barely playing any tennis. He's 2-4 in singles and 3-1 in doubles. Yet, that $100k is way, way more than he'll make on the pro pickleball tour. In the North Carolina Open pickleball tournament this past weekend, he won $509 for making the quarterfinals of the singles, and then got $5,000 for winning the mixed doubles. So he's going to need about 18 more weekends this year in pickleball that are as equally successful as this past one in order to exceed what he's done in just a handful of matches on the ATP Tour. It's kind of a joke.

Jack Sock playing pickleball is so embarrassing.

A Lake Norman resident since 2020, Sock is trying out this concept by playing three events in his first Professional Pickleball Association event this weekend in Charlotte. Then it will be back to the tennis grind. Sock said he’s scheduled to play in the main draw of the French Open doubles tournament in Paris later this month with close pal John Isner, and he will also play the French Open qualifying tournament in singles. Then it’s on to England, and Wimbledon.

Pickleball is the upside down world, all the money is in mixed dubs! :-D

I think there will be more money available as the popularity grows. I watch a lot of live matches on YouTube. When those matches are shown more often on ESPN and other tv networks, the prize money will increase.

I honestly tried to watch some of his mixed matches because I was curious to see how he'd do, but it was incredibly tedious with the weird scoring format and the constant dinking. I'm not saying it's easy to do that, but it's boring to watch. Also, they really need to incorporate hawkeye into these matches because the challenge system they have in place is ridiculously bad.

everyone? Nah. Just those who's tennis skills cannot compete anymore with people under 40. Any serious & good tennis player is not going to be seen on a pickelball court.
No it has nothing to do with not being able to compete with younger players - there's tons of very good tennis players in older groups who play with peers (and younger players in dubs).

Tennis players who go to pickle usually do so due to injury or can't get people to play tennis with...or they want to impress the old ladies (this is called 'the Sureshian effect').

Sounds like your area has better PB players and I just haven't seen good PB live in FL. I may eventually come around to playing it later, (already played 2x a couple yrs ago)

I'm just turned off by the scoring, the restricted kitchen area because I love touch volleys, and the plastic ball. I do like pop tennis (paddle tennis) a lot which uses a deflated tennis ball, underhand serve and real tennis scoring and no restricted areas but as I've aged each time I play PT, I get tennis elbow. I can't figure out why.
