What if Rafa won the 3-2 Advantage point in the 5th set AO 17?

Do you think Fed would have mentally tuned out if he did not get the break in 3 successive games at 0-1, 1-2 and 2-3 ?

What are the chances Rafa loses to Fed if he held on to that 6th game ?

Sounds easy to say now, but I still think Federer would've won. He had a certain look in his eye that whole 5th set and if you listen to his interviews both before and after the final, he obviously had the right mindset. Nadal looked a little slow to me as well. He didn't look like he was quite getting out to his FH side. For as good as Federer played, some of Nadal's misses were very uncharacteristic of him. Plus he broke twice to win anyway so we can probably make the assumption that he would break at least once. The only difference would be that Nadal would be serving at 5-4 to stay in it.

He was in every single Nadal service game and if he was really approaching the last set the way he said he did, he would have kept having chances to break in the next 2 service games. Rafa's chances would obviously increase but if I had to bet my house on it after knowing the way Rog would keep playing, I'd pick Roger

That would be simple then. IF Nadal held his serve for a 4-2 lead, Fed would have raced to a 40-15 lead and dumped a forehand in the net and then a shank to duece. He would then ace for advantage point, and Nadal would get into a long rally and Fed would again dump into the net for duece, and this sequence then AP-D-BP-D-BP-D-AP-D-BP-BROKEN. At 5-2 Nadal would go 15-30 down, and then a long rally for 30-all, with a Fed return in the net, and Fed's desperation to get it to duece would lead to a desperate pulling the forehand into net, and you have the champion.

Let's just be happy for Federer and pray for Miss V. Williams. I like seeing hard work and perseverance pay off, after years of self-belief through adversity.

Same here!

Never was much of a fan of Goran Ivanisevic, but his Wimbledon win in 2001 was the most beautiful fairy tale win I ever saw in Tennis in the last thirty years. I felt so much happy that day even though I couldn't see the match live on TV

Exactly. As much as I love Rafito, and wish he won, it's impossible to not be happy for Federer, it had been almost 5 years, and the Wimbledon losses to Ultron sucked. Now if Serena could stop being so greedy........
