What If.....Zverev Beats Rafa In Monte Carlo?

Most of us have wisely written Zverev off as a lame-o pusher but what if
we're not wise? What if we're wrong? What if Zverev beats Rafa in Monte
Carlo? What if he beats him.....in straights? What do we do then? How
do we re-calibrate? We've been pretty certain he's an empty pretty boy
who looks more like a surfer than a tennis player. You have to figure a
20 year old that cute is probably in it more for the easy sex than any
sports glory/history but what if he's not in it for the nookie? What if he
couldn't be further from Stepanek in motivation? So many questions here.

One thing's for sure, if Zverev beats him it'll throw one big fat beautiful
butt plug into this clay season. Who wouldn't like that?

I want Roger to regain #1, but if it's a Nadal-Zverev final, I am rooting for Rafa. I've been watching men's tennis avidly since I was 4 years old and the only two players I have ever really, really disliked (don't want to say "hate") are Mac and this long-haired brat.

Me too, no question. Nadal is an ATG who has proven himself time and time again against all comers. Zverev acts like he's had the superior career to Roger, Rafa, Djoker, Laver, Borg, Lendl and Becker. "Humility" is something utterly alien to him. I would LOVE to see a 6-0, 6-0 scoreline tomorrow if they meet.

Still think Kei might pull it out, then tomorrow's scoreline would at least be a respectable 6-3, 6-3.

It's not gonna happen on clay against Rafa. I still think he has less chance at RG this year solely due to cumulative fatigue. Ten years ago it would have been unheard of for anyone to suggest a 32 year would even have a chance to win there, but Rafa's Rafa!

Just curious, because I’m not a fan of him either, but what exactly are those horrendous disrespectful gross things he said and when? I know a lot of TTW posters hate him more than they hate Hitler and I don’t particularly like him but what specifically are those nasty things he said that make him an unbearable brat that is worse than a Monday morning? You can name only the worst examples so I can get the picture.

But Nadal is taking care of his body and is learning to schedule properly. He's just coming back from a long break so that he could conserve energy for clay. He'll probably straight set everybody on his way to the RG title again just like he did last year. We've been listening to the Nadal will be finished by age 28 theory for a long time and it isn't even close to being realistic. The only thing that could stop Nadal at RG is injury, IMO.

No we are not. These 2 and Novak are nothing like Agassi and Sampras. Agassi and Sampras got old and weak. Agassi not so much. Sampras for sure. When Sampras left Fed wasn't a force. But the big 3 are different. They have redefined consistency. Being ranked 1,2 and 3 for a long time is a different thing but providing almost a guarantee that they will always be in the later stages of tournaments is different.
How can you describe Nadal's grinding ability by the competition he faces? He was supposed to be over because of his style. But he isn't.
How can you attribute 15000+ points just to the competition?? None can do it because it requires you to be top notch on a daily basis. Which is something beyond competition. Its about the ability to sustain one's level.
And how can you describe Roger Federer?? Not just by his competition mate.
Believe me they are special.
