I actually think that if Murray lived to be 9000000000000 years old, that would be the greatest achievement in human history... assuming no else comes close to that age.
In a retrospective of Murray's career that stat will be highlighted as one of his greatest achievements. Maybe ranked just under the 2 OGs in importance.
I was wondering this Rafael Nadal as of 2017 is now 1-3 in Australian Open finals meaning 1 win and 3 losses, Andy Murray was 0-3 so 0 wins and 3 losses, what do you think is the better record.
I don't understand, how is this even a question? I mean Nadal hoisted the trophy and Murray didn't. I mean it doesn't matter how many each played. 1 is greater then zero
I also remember having the feeling that Murray in ‘12 Aussie semi controlled more points and put himself in winning positions. He just failed to convert a la Andy Murray. Clearly, this evinces Novak’s tennis prowess.
You guys seem to remember it a lot more clearly than I do. I don't remember much besides the match being on a Friday and going long. I don't remember feeling that Djokovic was going to lose at any point, which is strange if he was facing break points at 5-all in the 5th.
Then again, that was during a time when everything he touched turned to gold. Whenever he was down break points in important games, he always found a way to get the point. The forehand winner return against Federer in the semi at the US open, and then that down the line backhand against Rafa in that 3rd set in the final,on Break Point, after a 30 shot rally.
Both Nadal & Murray have same lone semi loss as well. So basically Murray went 2 matches further in one year. Not quite enough for me add in 2 of Nadal's losses were in 5.
