What is going on with the US Open

Semi-Pro
I bought tickets for yesterday and was canceled. I Got today's ticket and it will be canceled. I'm afraid I'll buy a ticket for Rogers match and they will cancel the session too. the worse is there is NO REFUND. what's going on? I guess the final will be played on Wednesday because the weather tomorrow is worse.

Check the rain policy. You might still be eligible for a future session.

You better hope its rained out again. If they get in an hour of play then you're screwed.

(It's the same old thing with those guys, all they care about is money, not the fans, not the players either)

There really isn't a refund, thats crazy. I would think you can use the ticket for the next available match if they can't honor a refund, I would imagine ticket prices are pretty expensive.

I really hope Nadal fans don't start aping the "it's all about money!" line Nadal used. If you agree, fine, but starting to shout it from the rooftops is stupid.

As someone who serves on the Executive Board at the USTA, let me assure you that my friends at the USTA continues to receive healthy compensation regardless of the weather challenges.

Nothing is certain in life, except that if you give us your money we take it. Again, let me assure you that I am doing everything in my power to make sure that 100 percent of your money will be accpeted by us and redistributed to ourselves as efficiently as possible. We will honor your money no matter the weather.

My I suggest that during these day long rain delays that you continue to spend your money at the concessions. Many of my kickbacks are from these vendors and we appreciate your continued patronage.

Damn that's messed up. I'd see if I could get some kind of credit toward all these USTA fees & **** that they charge us....that's messed up. So what does the average ticket up there run anyway these days? I bet their greedy @$$es are still selling tickets for the night session 2 knowing Hurricane *^(* is 2 hours away. Greedy I tell ya. I hate that for ya dude.

That's funny as hell. Well I for one don't give a rat's @$$ when it picks back up. I'll just move a couple of league matches around and i'll be sitting right on the couch whenever it kicks back off. I bet they'll spend some money now getting a couple of roofs. They are taking in 125 mil a year and it never came across anyone's mind to start adding roofs at some point. now we have to sit here and listen to some of these clowns talk. O O....I just saw the heavy duty mops are out again. I bet gasing those bad boys are going to cost someone a bonus. :)

It's always the same - all people care only about the money but only I'm pure and honest ...

They need to speak with the AO organizers or possibly steal some of the tournament director's previous employees.

The USO is a fiasco and with the "Monday" finals of recent years they should have been hatching an action plan to roll out for inclement weather in the next few years like the FO has...

(And there is also the issue of the roof which they could easily put on Armstrong. That way the matches before the final can avoid rain, and then the final will have enough time to get played on Ashe. And it make the roofless Ashe look like a good idea "An outdoor event should always play the Final outdoors")

the reason the USTA has such an atrocious customer service policy is because the public lets them get away with it. the public is simply compliant and sheepish. they pay exorbitant sums, pay $9 for tap water, and then don't get refunds. It tells me that only the richest among us can afford the charitable organization known as the USTA.

I think they should maybe look at Madison Square Garden as a potential venue in the event of rain. At least matches could still be played and it would generate a fantastic atmosphere too.

Would be better than having the players sitting about.

(That would be awes0me)

There's actually a little fun in all of this, sort of a tournament within a tournament, watching how the USTA copes with the issue of trying to deal with the demands of TV, their on-site customers, players, advertisers, etc. People take this stuff a little too seriously. And visitors to NYC should always have plans if it rains, with lots of museums and sights to see.
