What the hell is Bethanie Mattek wearing at this tournament? I have no idea what it is.
She needs attention, because her tennis game certainly doesn't bring it...so far it's working.
Her face certainly doesn't bring it either.
WTF is that? Was she seriously wearing that...
Different... to say the least.
And I thought Serena's "rebel without a cause" outfit a few years ago was bad...
People aren't going to take tennis seriously when they see outfits like that...!
I think she's gorgeous.
oh dear .
Was she high on something to come out in that trashy outfit? Looks like she belongs in the redlight district.
Ladies and Gentlemen, from Geico's Medieval line for fall 2006... I give you the flagship of our athletic line for the grown and hairy.
I think the clothes are intended to psych out the opponent...
She could win the match by making the opponent retire because of not being able to stop laughing
I think it was designed by the latest Project Runway reject. ;-)
She'd certainly beat me by walkover that way.
I was wondering who stole my curtains.
What kind of socks are those and what is with the ribbons on them?
Well at least she is wearing tennis shoes.
Don't give her ideas!
She'll be wearing high heels or flip flops on her next tennis match/fashion show.
High-heeled sneakers??
I LOVE that lacey stuff!!...
hahaha she is nuts
She definitely wears some odd stuff lol.
Did she win against Hantuchova?
uhhhh .... no comment
That geico advertisement throws the whole ensemble off. How tacky.
Yeah otherwise it would have been the perfect set up...
for an undercover cop working vice.
It's funny, if you changed the name in the title of this thread to Agassi and read this nearly 20 years ago, we would have exactly the same comments.
Bethanie should ask Serena to design a tennis outfit for her because Serena said that she is a fashion designer.
She looks like a dude in drag. Awful. I have loved some of her other funny outfits, but this one is all wrong.
she's wearing lowtop Air Jordans too. The 14's.
I agree...she's pretty hot looking. I think she's no different than the Agassi from the 80's.....showing she is NOT going to be put in a cookie cutter for styling.
Just a flashback..how about those open scapula shirts they wore last year? How stupid looking were those shirts? How many did they sell of those ?
I wonder how appealing she is to sponsors.....
shes dressing up as a roman in a toga.
Did she ride into the stadium on a horse? That outfit is retarded.
Well I got to hand it to her....it takes balls to wear something like that....err...you know what I mean!
you make me want to SHOUT
I'd like to see her in a pair of jeans and a white t-shirt with her hair out,i bet she's hot in person.
Kick her off the tour and put her in a mental institution until she decides to wear proper tennis clothes.
Bethanie of Troy, outfits that stopped a thousand clocks
Gonna send her to Serena's wing?
Here's an interesting article on Bethanie when she was 14.
Hmm I wonder if his vision included wearing a toga on the tennis court
Oh no, she's a christian, that's it for me.
Last night I was cleaning out my DVR of some USO matches I didn't get a chance to watch and I came upon this match of her against Hantuckova.
All I can say is .. OMG !!! Is she serious
But like others have said, it would be much more accpetable if her game was great but when you dress like this and have no game, you're just plain out of touch.
Not to be argumentative, but she plays well enough to be ranked around 100 in singles and around 40 in doubles on the WTA tour. That's better than a whole bunch of women professional players, and leads me to ask: what else is she going to do?...
What I mean is that she loves playing tennis, she won't ever make it into the upper echelons of the game (but she can make a living playing at her curent level), and she's not beautiful or cute -- why not have some fun out there? There's a photo of her in another thread wearing a "normal" tennis outfit -- believe me, she's much more interesting to look at wearing her own style(!) of clothing.
My sense is that she's a brave, fun person -- and smart, too!
