What do you think is the most impressive achievement - related to winning Grand Slams of the open era?

Most consecutive years winning a Grand Slam
Record held by Nadal - 9

Most # of years winning at least one Grand Slam
Record held by Sampras - 10

Most years between winning first and last Grand Slam
Record held by Sampras - 12

1. Calendar golden slam
2. Winning the same major at least twice or more
3. Some form of consecutive streak in record numbers

I'd say winning a particular major many times in succession is a more admirable achievement than winning any major for many years in a row.

Winning five US Opens and five Wimbledons concurrently seems like a way better display of consistency, focus and dominance than winning a major a year for 10 years. This scenario could have the same total but I view dominance like rankings - it takes sustained consistency. Winning a major a year doesn't necessarily demonstrate that, at least not as much as winning a particular major over and over does.

Number of grand slam wins is of course the most important stat related to GS. Everyone knows the answer and that shows how big that record is.

Most consecutive years winning a Grand Slam, Most no. of years winning at least one Grand Slam, Most years between winning first and last Grand Slam are all big records. I'd add to that number of consecutive finals/SF/QF reached and number of consecutive years of winning the title at each of the slams.

True. But I'd value winning all four higher because only the most complete player can win on different surfaces and beat all the XXX specialists, even though the differences is getting smaller, they are still very different in terms of game play.

Pancho Gonzales won at least one of the most important pro event ten years in a row.

Sampras time span between first and last slam is amazing and too much overlooked.

And two centuries, and two milleniums. Only Agassi and Kuerten have done the same! They are amazing.

I guess this is the most impressive record related to GS. You win.

Nobody else came close for 1000 years and won't for the next 1000 years.

Those records are almost eternal.

Oh, without doubt. I was comparing it to the simple "winning at least one major X years in a row" compared to winning a particular major many times in succession.
