I know we’re splitting hairs here, but judging from pure eye test (or by stats if that’s your thing), which is the highest level?

10. Choose any terrible year like 2005/2017/2018

2013 Ferrer as a performance only.
2019 Nadal best final performance.
Also I remember he trashed Murray badly in AO 11 final. But maybe that was due to Murray subpar showing.
And I don't know why but i really felt sorry for Luca Pouille who was a punching bag that night.

AO 19 final.

No one ever did that to Nadal in a slam final, even more considering he was steamrolling everybody in that tournament.

2013 AO SF against Ferrer. I felt bad for David.

2016 against Fed he couldnt keep it up and 2019 final against Nadal was overrated.
He was playing against effing Ferrer FGS. Playing without any pressure whatsoever, with the knowledge that whatever you do and however you play, you will end up winning the match eventually. It's the same like playing against Hewitt, Roddick or Berdych. Good performance, but not a great opponent. ;)

Nadal sucked in the final in 2019 so Djokovic had to do soooo much to beat him that day.
2016 SF was impressive but as I said he played at that level for 2 sets and with some luck Fed could've pushed the match to 5 sets.

god the 19 version really is overrated judging from the poll results, recency bias much?

lol just because of what Djokovic said recently? you would really pick that 33 year old, declined in movement Djokovic to play for your life over the 11 SF or 13 SF peak version?

Djokovic is not even 33 today yet. Lol. He was 31.

geez really? didn’t even know

still, would pick the 2011 version to play for my life. and he played against the best opponent from the poll.

Not that impressed with Peakovic having to clutch out every set over Agerer. Good job to win in straights but no dominance.

Went with AO'11 SF. AO'13 SF was also ridiculous. '16 SF he couldn't sustain the level of the first two sets and '19 is overrated because of how poorly Nadal played.
Credit should be given to Federer for somehow winning that 3rd set in 2016.It's not like Djokovic's level necessarily went down.

Agerer? Lol. The guy was 29 years old. Wasn’t Djokovic almost 29 when he played the best two sets of his life in 2016 AO SF? Didn’t Djokovic hold all grand slams and the year end championship at age 29?

"Best two sets of his life" I thought that was 2019 final, no?

2011 AO Federer was older than 2016 AO Djokovic by what, nine months? Add nine months to Djokovic's age then, what do you get - the lovely 2016 WTF final. A lot changes in nine months.

I thought it's well documented fact that Federer is old ever since the end of 2007. 2011!? By the start of 2011, he was already an octogenarian.;)

Highest level was certainly against Federer for the first two sets in AO 2016. He was one point away from taking the first two sets 6-1 6-1. That is just unreal. But he couldn't keep those dizzy heights up for three sets, and Federer also managed to play a little better.

I would go with AO 2013 semi with Ferrer. I remember the gasps from the crowd and commentators in that match. The level was just a joke.

Taking nothing away from Murray, he earned that year end no.1 and won that final fair and square, but it’s well documented that Djokovic’s elbow was already a hindrance to him at that stage. His deterioration had nothing to do with age, we don’t know what Djokovic’s level would have been had he been in full health. He could have still been performing at peak level for all we know. What we do know is that Djokovic won the NCYGS at age 29 (while holding the year end championship), only a few months younger than the Federer of AO11. So to make out as if Federer was ancient at that stage is ridiculous, especially considering that he displayed some great tennis heading into his mid thirties, and is still a contender in his late thirties.

Federer played well despite the loss. His movement and ability to stay in the rallies was amazing even on a slower HC were Djokovic is king.

Most games won in Slam QF+SF+F outside clay

1) 2019 AO Djokovic 76.67%
2) 2003 AO Agassi 73.97%
3) 1984 WI McEnroe 69.62%
4) 1991 UO Edberg 69.23%
5) 2019 UO Nadal 69.05%
6) 1978 UO Connors 68.29%
7) 1983 WI McEnroe 66.67%
8) 1997 WI Sampras 65.93% (lost 1 set)
/ 2006 WI Federer 65.93% (lost 1 set)
10) 1979 WI Borg 64.95% (lost 2 sets)

2019 AO Djokovic may be the highest level ever reached outside clay. The only close in this stat is 2003 AO Agassi with one of the weakest draws ever: Grosjean, Ferreira, Schuettler.

I am assuming you mean highest ratio of games won to games lost in a slam outside clay, not most games won.

Going with 2011 as he played against much younger Federer who was certainly closer to his best years than the 2016 version. What impressed me in that match the most was Novak's forehand, he was winning the F2F exchanges with prime Roger. His FH was a lethal weapon during that whole year.

And him beating Berdych, Federer and Murray without losing a set was just sick. His best tournament ever imo.
