What is the best Yonex racquet ever made?

Uniqueness-- the newer VC95 are a better blend of power control than the older 95s

All around playability for the most people- Ezones of 20 and 22 are amazing blends of power and control and yes, the DR98 + was my main racket for awhile so I can compare.

But really, the Regna 98.

Personally I preferred the RD Power 10 Long, and I have an extremely long history with Yonex (from when I was ~ 12 yrs old):
- R-22
- R-27
- R-50
- RQ-420
- Cyborg 2200
- RD Power 10 Long (my favorite)
- RD Ti 50 Long (the worst Yonex IMO)
- RDS 001
- VCore Pro (1st Gen)
- Ezone Ai 98
- Ezone Dr 98
- VCore 98 + (2019)
- VCore 98 + (2021)

DR 98 was and still is the best one by many opinions on talk tennis. I bought 2 last year thinking I was still good enough to swing it but I’m just not at that level anymore where I could use it all the time.

Not that I’ve been able to hit with it, but wouldn’t the 95D be up there too? Or is that more so thanks to Stan? I also think the ezone 2022 98 is up there with some of the best modern racquets. The vcore 2018 95 is also a great players stick.

Rookie
Vcore 97 Tour F (16x21) (a better Ezone)
or
VCP H/D (older thin beams (the green ones with VDM are my favourite...to other peoples dismay, the newer ones are too chunky / clunky)

With pink string. LOL.

Probably best with the natural colour syngut. RQ-180 tops the charts for the racket cases too:

I have a RD-7 and SRG500 Long on my "Vintage" collection, got them both very cheap, but still hold their own against anything out there today.

Love to see there done with modern materials, like head have done with the PT2.0 and PC2.0

Hard to pick one but my shortlist would be...

Regna 98 - I have no experience with this mythical creature of a racket but due to it's legendary status it needs to be on the list
EZONE DR 98 - potentially the greatest EZONE ever produced, currently on my list of rackets to try in the future and has to be in the top 3 for sure
EZONE (2022) - in my opinion this must be one of the best and all around frames produced in the last 4 years
VCORE 95D - probably would have faded into obscurity without Wawrinka and potentially Hewitt but some people swear by this one and idk of any other Yonex frames that have won a slam (I'm sure there are others) so it needs to be mentioned
VCORE SV 95 - so many people loved this frame when it first came out for being one of the first traditional/modern hybrid frames in addition to it being very hyped up due to being used by Shapovalov
VCORE 95 (2018) - this is my personal favorite frame of all time, this was basically a consumer prostock frame with the best QC I have ever seen, buttery feel, and once customized was simply the best IMO
VCORE PRO 97 HD - this is on my list of rackets I'd like to try in the future but I've heard nothing but great things about it from others

Are the 2020 ezone 100 and 100+ basically the same as the 2022? I think the 98 got 8 mains in the center so those are different from the previous year

I'm a bit behind in terms of Yonex sticks.
I've hit with a few over the years though - the greenie, the Glaflex, the Pioneer, the R1 and R3 aluminium frames, the R7, R10, R22, R 27, RX32, RX37, the RQ180, RD7, RD70, MP Tour 1, RDX500 Mid and Midplus, the RDS001 and the most recent EZone 100.

Of these, the best frame for me was the RX32. Such a beautiful stick.
I liked the RD70 for it's very thin beam and massive spin generation but at 28" it was too long. Very nice feeling frame though.
The RDX500 Mid was damn near perfect in terms of doing what I wanted it to do. Better than any Prestige I've hit with as a pure no frills point and shoot stick. Feel wasn't as nice as some of the others I've played though.
I had a lot of fun with the recent EZone 100. It was only a demo - I'd love to get some more hours with it. Might be my next frame - who knows?

But the RX32 was something special. Never felt a stick like it before or since.

I may be a bit biased, but the TW review held the Vcore pro 97 2018 in high regard and I managed to pick up a new one today that had been in storage for years. I look forward to trying it.

TW review:

Would the Ezones come close?
Played that for 5 years. Incredible feeling stick. Great spin and control. But extremely low powered. Added some lead at the tip to get some more swingweight but still wasn't enough for my needs as Ive gotten older and need some help from frame in the power department. Just recently switched to the vcore 98 tour for a little extra power, specially on my serve. But I've kept one of these in my bag just in case. Great frame for a strong player.
