What is the more impressive achievement - Nadal going 52-1 (98.11%) at the French Open over 8 years or Federer going 80-1 (98.76%) at the Australian Open, Wimbledon, and U.S. Open over 4 years?

Federer of course. The mathematics is always with him.

Fed is the greatest, and the GOAT, and a goat. Over to Evan77 :D

No question it is Nadal. This shouldn't even be a discussion.

I kid of course. This is a weird comparison, it's like saying, what is better 8 RGs or 16 slams. Of course 16 slams is a bigger achievement!

I think looking at just one surface , what Rafa has done on RG/Clay surpasses what other players have done ON ONE SURFACE. Rafa on clay is the highest level that has been achieved on a surface. As a cumulative though, Fed blows away the field. No other player comes close to Fed's overall dominance over a 4 yr span.

Would you rather be awesome on 1 surface or awesome on 4. I'd rather be awesome on 4. Now if the question was would you rather be a great player on 1 surface and average on the others or a good player on 3 surfaces, I might choose the former. You'd rather win the 100m and suck at the 200m/400m than come 4th in all events.

Score another 2nd place finish for Rafael "The Impossible" Nadal!

The one loss being Safin at the 05 Australian. Just insane. It took an inhuman effort from Safin to stop Federer from winning 81 straight matches at 3 majors.
