What is the most boring tournament?

Ok Im referring to the tournaments that are 1000 points on up. Obviously some of the 250s and 500s are pretty boring. For me the most boring would have to be Monte Carlo (Because Nadal has always won it) or the Atp WTF because Im usually ready for a break of pro tennis and something about the format bothers me. Monte Carlo is a great tournament.

Most boring for me has to be anything that comes after the US Open. Who really cares about the Fall Indoor season?

WTF rates more than olympics and probably just a fraction short of majors. WTF Brings the best of the best together. No mickey mouse matches.

Given the current gap between the top 4 , 5-8 and the rest of the field, in fact i would say WTF is same as majors.

Most boring is Monte Carlo. With Rome and Madrid following, it is a joke to have a 1000 point non mandatory tournament. They have it so that Nadal can get 1000 points and Ferrer / Almagro 250-500 points.

Have to agree re Monte Carlo. Clay is my least favourite surface, add to that its non mandatory status and the same player winning every year, makes it less interesting.

The hard court indoor season after US open is all quite boring. So I guess Shanghai or Paris or what have you.

Monte-Carlo is great and by far the nicest setting of all tournaments imo.

maybe shanghai...

the players find cincinnati boring as a city, but the tennis played there is usually quite good.

monte-carlo, rome and paris are lots of fun. the World Tour Finals are usually pretty amazing.

i don't know if you guys like tennis or are just slam glory hunters.

it's clearly the nicest setting, but it term of tennis it is not very good. What is the last great match played here? What was the last great final, in term of tennis?

Nadal is always great to watch on the clay. The last great final there was 2009, Nadal beating Djokovic 6-3, 2-6, 6-1.

Any tournament that ends up with a Nadal/Murray vs Djokovic final.

You end up watch mindless hours of the same monotonous thing over and over again. It truly resembles a game of pong.

Shanghai. I'm still very annoyed that Hamburg was sacrificed for that.

Yes! I couldn't and can't stand that. Hamburg Masters was such a great tournament/venue...

Plus, the Madrid Indoors was great too. They've ripped of those two great tournaments.

Yeah, I liked Nadal - Ferrer in 2011 too. Maybe it's just me being a fan of outdoor clay tennis though.

I don't like Indian Wells I feel it is so unecessary who cares about that place anyway? Palm Springs seems boring it seems to rich, white upper class and pretentious.

I really hope SOMETHING happens this clay court season. This is the best opportunity for the guys to knock off Nadal he's vulnerable on clay this year I feel. Despite Nadal saying he's confident I don't think he is. The top men have got to realize this is the year to stop Nadal on the clay.

I don't think any of the 1000's and up are boring. Those are the tournaments I can't wait for because I know all the good players will be in the draw.

I guess with that logic, Monte Carlo would be my pick by default since it isn't mandatory, meaning it will likely have the weakest draw of any of those tournaments.

Paris indoor. Never used to be, but the ridiculous scheduling has now rendered the tournament pointless. Last year watching the top players either not attend or tank, made it a pretty grim event.

Probably Monte-Carlo because Nadal is so dominant there that it rarely produces anything exciting. I mean, come on, he's lost two sets there in the last six years.

I think that the whole calendar of tournaments is boring because there are no new faces winning tournaments, adding credibility and excitement to the sport...all the trophies go to the same worn out hands which are tired of holding racquets...at present there is nobody running up violently from the base of the pyramid of players to win a tournament...

WTF

People usually ran out of fuel, not equal competition.
Some people withdrawing, some people tanking.

Glorified exho.

I agree with Monte Carlo. Bigger the biceps bigger the chance, that's the only way you can get the ball moving.

It's a shame they call it master. Money talks for sure in MC

Paris is probably the one that has least meaning, but there was an element of excitement/amusement to be had with all of the top seeds losing early.

WTF is exciting, and on paper it should be great, but there is no escaping the fact that many of the players are knackered by then, so it's not as meaningful as it should be and so reality looks a bit pale by comparison with all of the hype.

What a load of rubbish, Federer's arms are like hairy noodles and he's made the final on multiple occasions.

Now back to the topic, I don't think any of the majors are boring, as for the Masters, probably Paris and the WTF.
