I can't find the answer to this question: What is the official name of the symbol, often a yellow dot or bar, that indicates who is scoring in the score box on television?

Whatever your level of play, the board must display the following information at least: timer, game time, current score, service indicator, sets won and period number.

A number of scoreboard technology patents and descriptions refer to the dot as a "service indicator," so I think that takes the cake.
