What is the ONE FINAL THING Fed has to do to be considered GOAT

To me:
He has to knock out Chuck Norris in a fight with a roundhouse kick on the right cheek.
What's your THING?

He needs to reverse the h2h and win more than one Roland garross and beat nadal at rolland gorras, nadal has a superior h2h, and has beaten Fed in a Wimbledon final and he has more than one Wimbledon

Retire.
unless he, and everyone else, stops moving the goalposts every damn time he goes on court, there can never be a sane way to at least find a midpoint in that GOAT debate

He needs to beat Nadal in slams

on His favourite surface (Grass and hard court)

Inhumanely impossible - beat Rafa in Clay @ FO

He'd need to beat Rod Laver in all four major finals in the same year.
He'd need to beat Sampras, Connors and Lendl at the US Open.
He'd need to beat Sampras, Borg and Renshaw at Wimbledon.
He'd need to beat Nadal and Borg at the French Open, with him on one side of the net and both of them on the other.
He'd need to do all of that with wooden racquets and long trousers, and to compensate for the differing heights of the eras he'd have to do the whole lot at least twice, once with his knees bent and once more at normal posture (if enough people allow him).

To start with anyway.

I think he already is, but, to cement it, he needs to beat Nadal at Roland Garros, convincingly (like, 6-4, 6-7, 6-4, 6-3 or something) and, ideally, in the final.

If he beats Nadal in the final of RG, there can be no debate (to beat the GOAT of clay in the finals of the clay slam...)

Maybe start by not getting bageled in a french open final, then he could try and beat Nadal at the french at any round

NOTHING!

Federer already is the undisputed GOAT.

ALL of the other GOAT contenders have already said so:

Laver, Sampras, Agassi, Borg, McEnroe, Nadal, Djokovic, etc. have all stated that Federer is the GOAT.

To start with, I'd suggest winning his first grand slam. Laver has 2! Win one then we will talk. He may have more majors, but Laver won both an amateur and a pro grand slam.

Why is that...the one person that did that didn't even win it. :) Infact, hasn't even won a major. :) Enough of the player hating...he's the best tennis has ever seen...say it. :)

No, then they would just point out that Nadal won the other 5 or so. :) Ignorance can't be changed in some instances. The man holds so many records that is clear he's the goat. :) He doesn't need to do anything else. Adding this extra major just makes it that much harder for Nadal and his crippling knees to catch him. :) I see him getting maybe 3 more and thats hoping he doesn't have to play Fed under a roof or run into Novak and not have someone slap him around like this guy just did.

All of these people have also said nadal is or could be the GOAT, and Nadal will say Federer is the GOAT even if he wins 20 slams, he is just that humble

Like other sports, h2h only comes into consideration if the points are equal, so you are wrong.

Reversing the head to head with Nadal would silence most of his critics as would winning a career slam. To top it all off the career slam would take place after the surfaces were made more distinct again.

Those people said Federer is the GOAT unless Nadal can win more Slams than Federer. Since 17 > 11, Federer is the GOAT until someone else can win 18 Slams.

he's #1.

yeah, pepople can knock him at casual conversation after a local tennis match right now.

in my opinion, beating Nadal at Roland Garros would shut the door.

Beat Nadal in one or more GS Finals, preferably RG. Not going to happen at RG though. Rafa is the greatest red clay player of all time.

Fed has maybe two or three years left of relevancy before he gets injured or loses too much speed wise. The modern game is for fast kids. At 31, he is past his prime. Enjoy him while he lasts.

I hope he wins the US Open and kicks Rafa's butt. :)

If, from now on, Federer beat Nadal for 7 consecutive years in the FO final, bringing his slam total to 24, would you consider him the GOAT?

Close the h2h gap with Nadal. Im not a h2h>all proponent, but he has to make it more respectable. Something like 21-16 Nadal, and with an epic win or 2 over Nadal, preferably at least 1 in a grand slam final.

Fed is the GOAT, no doubt! If you manage to accumulate 3 Grand Slam titles more than the previous record holder and are still playing strongly, there cannot be any discussion.
I don't care if Rod Laver missed out on 20 Grand Slam titles due to taking part in the amateur circuit for so long or whatsoever... I never saw Laver play live, but I cannot imagine anyone playing the game better than Roger.
If there were anyone on the planet who did play better than him, I'm sure he would have more than 17 Grand Slam titles. How can anyone argue with Roger being the GOAT??? I think I will never understand.
