I disagree. Watch the post match presser. Diego was clearly shook. It happens to players all the time. You get beat, in Diego’s case badly, by a guy you thought you would win against and it kills your confidence. Just look a Grigor, he faked a back injury half way into the Karatsev match.

You said his current slump is due to a beatdown at AO, yet when given undeniable proof that Diego rebounded to kick butt a month later to win BA, you claim he is still reeling from the psychological torture of a Karatsev loss. Then you throw in a Strawman reference to Dimitrov.

No strawmans here my friend. Watch the presser. You can see that Diego understood that Karatsev when ON is just a better tennis player. so much of tennis is mental. You can build confidence for months and loss it after a bad loss. Aslan beat Diego, a top 10 player, 6-3 6-3 6-3, which is devastating. How else would you explain Diego losing to Gasquet in Lyon 6-3, 7-5? Gasquet is an amazing player but let’s be honest he is not in the best shape right now.
Also, Karatsev is the REAL DEAL. Haven’t seen someone stand on the baseline a hit the ball so well in a VERY long time. Aslan reminds me of peak Agassi, when he is playing his best.
