What is wrong with Murray??

He appears to be having a serious AO hangover, having lost to 2 seemingly "inferior" players in the last 2 big tourneys. Time for yet another coaching change?

Murray doesn't care about Masters anymore. He finaly realised that no matter how many masters you win, you won't get as much respect as a grandslam winner. Right now he's preparing himself for the FO.

I'm sure you know exactly what Murray cares about and doesn't. Face the facts. Murray is a pusher who has no power and will to win the game. THAT is exactly why he lost both at Indian Wells and at Miami.

He needs to take a year off, find his focus and purpose in life and then come back if he decides tennis is what he wants to do. Oh and he needs to work on getting rid of his negativity.

So he's winning RG without dropping a set ?
I am bookmarking this, buddy. Be here in May.

Deja vu for Murray, although this present slump is even worse than last year's post-Australian Open slump. The lowest point of last year's slump was in Monte Carlo, when he won just 3 games against Kohlschreiber and was booed off the court.

This is the lowest point in his professional career. Until yesterday, he'd never lost 4 straight matches or had 3 straight R1/first match exits.

All greats go through slumps like these. Like Lance Armstrong. Andy must now focus on his training and beat this.

I don't want to kick a man when he's down, but losing to Young and Bogomolov back to back without even winning a set is absolutely ridiculous for a player with Murray's talent. He really needs to take a break and make some radical changes, especially concerning his mentality. This is beyond embarrassing...

BG would take him back

why did brad gilbert part ways with him to begin with? ATITUDE!!!

You know if Murray called, BG would take him back in a NY second. That's the only reason he was kissing up to him as an analyst as recently as AO pre-final checkmarks for victory.

LOL Gilbert is a huge murrtard. He never quit Murray kicked him out the front door.

Like the guy above if he had the chance he would dump his fellow American Young for Murray tomorrow.

Maybe Murray should go back with Gilbert. Gilbert did wonders for Agassi, and Roddick played his best tennis when Gilbert was his coach.

Murray definitely needs a proper coach.

Roger Rasheed would be nice if he wasn't with Gael.

Murray would be extremey frustrating to coach...yelling at the coach during matches and in effect blaming him for a misssed point. Who would want to coach the boy who already has a coach..his mother. And he seems less than dedicated to the game and would rather play vidreo games. Thankless coaching job IMO

I think whoever coaches him would need the balls to tell him what he needs to do and not just what he wants to hear. Someone who after a match would give him a bollocking if he yelled at his coaching box when things went wrong, or told him to trim a few members of his crew. Could Gilbert be that man?

Now whether Murray would be willing to pay someone to do that to him is another matter...

Andy Murray is a great ???? Great at getting his behind kicked in major finals maybe. 3 major finals without winning a set, true hallmark of a great !!! Comparing him to Lance Armstrong ? One of the all time greats/legends of his chosen sport. Lance Armstrong is one of, if not the greatest mentally tough athletes of all time and Murray is on the other end of the mental strength spectrum.

you're downsizing Murray when he could beat you left-handed using a frying pan

Murray's success is tied too much to what the other player does or does not do. That's fine for the WTA or when playing players out of the top 15. But not against the top level pros. He has no weapons. He has no strategy. He acts like a 10 year old brat when HE makes a mistake.
In all reality, what he needs to do is disappear for about 1 year and not cut his hair. After his hair is long, he needs to dress in drag, put on some lipstick, develop an annoying shrill and make a comeback in on the womens tour. THEN he might have a shot at winning a slam.

Yes, I agree, Andrea Murray would dominate.
On to the more important questions.
Would she date Kim Still, still...or venture out on her own?
Would she strike up a relationship with her coach? Or maybe go for female companionship in the tradition of BJK and the elder Martina?
Would HEAD drop her or market her more aggressively?
Would Scottish fans support her in a Susan Boyle way?
How would this affect the Williams sisters' hegemony?
Would TW fans notice?
Would she end up in the 'guys only, legs' thread? Or the 'What's wrong with her' thread?
Would she play dubs?
Would GBR win a Fed Cup?
Can we talk about the Andrea and Jamie Murray mixed dubs slam potential?

Needs a better team pushing him. I feel bad for him, I expected him to bounce back from loss better this time, but he seems to have slumped even harder! :(

A little resarch of who has actually coached Murray is there for all to read about. Try Google.

Gilbert gave up ...quit the LTA and left the UK.

Gilbert was Murray's coach from July 2006 until November 2007. Gilbert's tenure with the LTA was from July 2006 until September 2008.

Are you saying that Murray needs to beat cancer in order to make it to the next level? Maybe Ferrer should start moonlighting as Murray's coach.

Albeit, cancer is an extreme exaggeration. But Murray needs to really focus hard on what he really wants to achieve.

I'm sorry, maybe I should clarify. I'm not comparing, rather I would like Murray to develop the mental strength on Armstrong. Now what a sight that would be. Murray may not be great now, but in the future as he continues down his career we may see something blossom. A Lotus flower blooms twice. Andy is like that.

Oh I remember Gilbert used to be Murrays coach (being a tennis fan in the UK I used to hear nothing else!), but I'm thinking it might be time for them both to settle their differences and join forces again.

.

This is quite funny - insofar as it isn't correct. Gilbert didn't leave the LTA after Murray bagged him - he coached Bogdanovic for months.

You know - I was thinking after Murray lost to Bogey that he should lift the phone to BG and say 'OK - now I'm ready to be coached by you'. He won't though.
