What is your favorite string and why?

BB original ... i think it has the best combination of power, control, touch and feel if used at proper tensions...

Perhaps spin potential is not as good as some other poly's, but if you have a fairly open string pattern this should not be a problem.

Signum Pro Poly Plasma; the control and durability of a poly with good tension maintenance and it won't make your arm fall off.

OG Micro - unbelievable value, playability, durability

i don't like poly or multis because of the major tension loss and durability (in the case of multis). gut is a bit too expensive, so i prefer synthetic guts. i've tried quite a few syn guts, from the stiffer end (PSGD) to the softer end (babolat superfine play), but prefer the OG micro over both of them.

Semi-Pro
Natural Gut mains w/ syn gut crosses. Why? For me, this set up produces the optimum combination of power, touch, spin, control, comfort and longevity (when you add in string savers). Oh and the price works out to be about the same per racquet as using a premium multi, but lasts far longer for me than any multi I've tried.

Your results may vary. :)

I just found mine:
Prince Synthetic Gut with Duraflex 16L.

The reasons:
1. good tension maintenance.
2. does not move too much, at least beats the Gamma synthetics hands down.
3. cheap and arm friendly. ( but a little bit more stiff than pure synthetic gut).

My racket was strung at 57/55. It feels perfect.

So far in my hybrid... My favorite is the Klip excellerators for its crisp play...

Still haven't found the right poly for me yet though...

Isospeed Professional has been one of my favorites for several years now. I like the control it provides and in the Babolat Pure Drive, it really tames the power.

I'm a noob with strings, I rarely break them (although I use LOTS of topspin IMO). So, the cheapest is what I get and Prince Lightning XX works for me, since the strings don't move a lot.

OG Micro Sheep 16g is one of my overall favorites too for the same reasons.

I'd go with BB Original. Decent playability, hold tension well, last pretty long and it's not as stiff as kevlar.

Yep, Yonex Tour Super 850 gets my vote. If it had Wilson on the cover it would sell like hotcakes and be hailed as the best multi on earth.

interesting that no one has mentioned alu power or topspin cyber flash yet. or even pro redcode, 3 very popular polys. I, myself, have not tried any of these yet but they seem to get a lot of reviews. I'm going to try redcode pretty soon, hopefully in a hybrid with a multi or syn gut.

Hybrid Pro Supex Big Ace 18 Main @ 53 and Gamma Revelation 17 Cross @ 56
Because I can reach 120Mph on my serve with this setup, the control is amazing with a nice soft feeling, great spin and not too expensive < $7
