if a Tv show, it has to have originally aired before you were born, but could run past your birthdate (as is the case with mine) and optionally post your birth year.
Mine: The Twilight Zone, born 1963
Casablanca (1942). Wasn't much TV before my day (1952).
My favorite TV series from the late 50's was Perry Mason.

Same here. (I like to follow up a viewing of Casablanca with To Have and Have Not.) But i would add a lot of old musicals, too. Hitchcock, film noir, Goodbye Mr Chips (1939), The Third Man, and many more. Most, if not all, of my fave movies are the B&W ones which all predate me.
TV came into our house pretty late. For a long time we resisted TV. IIRC, it was only for the Olympics (76 or 80?) that we got our first telly. I don't know if the BBC TV shows of that time were made before i was born, so can't say.
I must have seen a couple of thousand films, but I've never gotten around to seeing Casablanca,it just doesn't interest me for some reason. Probably because it's popular...Same here. I'd go for Taxi Driver and perhaps Fawlty Towers or Some Mothers Do 'Ave 'Em
Yeah, but the most recognized line is probably "Oooh Betty" (his wife)Hey, I've seen Some Mothers Do 'Ave 'Em !!
Isn't that the one where there is a man whose wife delivers and he keeps saying "Now I am a MAN !!!"
Why has no one ever recommended this to me before ?Pretty much anything with James Cagney. Angels with Dirty Faces (1938) if I had to choose one.
TV: I dream of Jeannie & I love Lucy
Movies: Rocky SeriesWilly Wonka, Wizard of Oz

The title makes me picture @Rusty Shackleford and @stringertom immediately.![]()
Sureshs was in the remake of this. It was called "The seven year pitch" and it revolved around an Indian software engineer that emigrates to San Diego and must deal with chronic Viagra-induced priapism. It is a delightful romp full of double entendres and situational comedy, like when Sureshs's lady boss hangs her coat on Sureshs extremity without noticing.the seven year itch
As a child I loved The Monkees which was shot in the 60s but re-aired in the 70s.
Lots of great movies before my time but Planet Of The Apes is one of my favs.
I only seem to remember James Cagney when I have to go back in time like this.
James Cagney as William 'Rusty' Sullivan.![]()

I must have seen quite a few. I can only remember "One, Two, Three".
I have "White Heat" and "The Roaring Twenties" on my list. Anyone here have any opinions on these two.
I've used the boy spitting milk too many times today, so I'll post this reaction instead.

But remember that I really meant the boy spitting milk.
Yes, Planet of the Apes is easily one of the best movies of all time, released the year I was born.
Poor guy. You were born just before all movies started being pretty much shlt. Was born in 89 so I have to go with Animal House! I haven't really watched much TV from before I was born though.

Well, you could actually choose any of the Cohen Brothers stuff, like The Big Lebowski. I myself thought of choosing one of their movies.
I still haven't seen The Big Lebowski! I know I need to, that wouldn't work for this question though since that's a late 90's movie so I was definitely around. Monty Python and The Holy Grail is another favorite of mine though, that's the 70's!
Ah, yes. Brain fart, sorry. The Big Lebowski is 1999 I think. Definitely a great movie though.I still haven't seen The Big Lebowski! All Hollywood movies perhaps...Poor guy. You were born just before all movies started being pretty much shlt.

Nah, it was an exaggeration or a joke. There's actually great movies (even Hollywood ones) that have been made since 1989. I think the last golden era of Hollywood was the 70s though. All Hollywood movies perhaps...
That reminds me. I saw a bit of "Here's Lucy" and later "I love Lucy" before we got a telly at home. I remember that scowling person with her, her boss IIRC.
Oh yes. Mr Mooney ! LOL.Mr. Mooney (Loved the money).![]()
