What is your fav genre of music
I really like all kinds. Really. Even country. But the stuff I mostly listen to is indie, rock, pop, and anything you can dance to/clap along to.
it depends on the ocassion
Progressive rock. The old 70-80's bands (Genesis, Yes, Camel, etc) and the neo-progs rockers of today (Flower Kings, Spock's Beard, Dream Theater, etc).
I like just about EVERYTHING but it depends on the mood for which style I pick.
Overall I like rock the best; on the heavy side like Rammstein. Then I might switch to some J Timberlake.
That's a tough one, it also depends on my mood. If I had to choose, I'd have to go 80s/90s alternative rock. Bands like 'Sonic Youth' and 'The Smashing Pumpkins' were brilliant then.
Pop, like hardcore
all kinds of stuff..... I've been listening to the Garden State soundtrack lately.
my all time favorite is Soda Stereo. if those guys had sung in english they would have been bigger than U2
omg, i LOVE classical music. i think its because i spent most of my life living in vienna and thats where most of the classical musicians come from; like mozart, beethoven and strauss
Rios, Garden State is a great soundtrack, and I listen to a lot of soundtracks. But I also listen to everything from classical to bluegrass, old and new. Like everyone says, depends on the moment.
Mainly Older Rock, none of this new "kaiser chiefs and "muse" rubbish (altough Bliss is a great song)
But mostly, GnR, The Who, Lynyrd Skynryd, Thin Lizzy, Nirvana, Jimi Hendrix, Dire Straits... etc..... and of course, the greatest band in the world: The Goo Goo Dolls.
Hey Nuke ! great choices, I have several of " Flower Kings cd's along w/ ' Spock's Beard' (Snow), if you like them then check out - Neil Morse,OSI,Transatlantic,' " Porcupine Tree.'
I can listen to just about anything if it's music, and it really depends upon the mood, lately: New Christmas CD by Diana Krall, a little Frank Sinatra Christmas music etc..
Nuke - are you the Stig? (Return_Ace should get that!!)
Meg - what do you define as hardcore? Over here hardcore as a genre is either happy hardcore - which is a terrible dance music variety oft loved by chavs - like drum 'n' bass but faster and on helium. Or, hardcore as in very heavy thrash metal with lots of shouty angry people. Neither of these sounds like your scene.
lol Ash, but like, in last week's episode he had classical on :/ but tommorow they've got the Veryon oh yeh xD
I was watching a repeat on Sky last night and he was listening to Camel!
That Veyron is barking!!
Rock and Ska are the best. Red Hot Chili Preppers, Nirvana, Sublime, System of a Down, Smashing Pumpkins, No Doubt, Avenged Sevenfold, Green Day The Clash, Authority Zero, etc. etc. etc.
Pink Floyd, Radiohead, all the solo albums from members of Floyd/Radiohead, and the recent posers who have come out and tried to imitate two of the greatest British bands... um and assorted piano stuff bc it helps me play better, trying to be Rick Wright lol
System of a Down, Rage Against the Machine, Disturbed, Godsmack...
Must be a Brit thing, as I'm not getting that reference at all.
hmm almost any rock except emo Slipknot, Mudvayne, Disturbed, Spineshank, System of a Down
Nuke - The Stig is the pro driver on a programme called Top Gear who listens to 'Prog Rock' while testing the cars. You can see clips at www.topgear.com/content/timetoburn/sections/videos/
Rammstein - hard, heavy, deep (king of the bridge part of songs)
Shinedown - I love every song on the new album
Chevelle - has one of the best albums ever
T.A.T.U - great new album
ok, i can't stop, i could list many many more.
***damn they are good.
I believe "Persiana Americana" is a Soda Stereo song. I really enjoy their music, when I catch it on radio, but I don't own any of their stuff. The thing is, eventhough my native language is Spanish, I lived something like my first 10 years of life in London (Wimbledon, to be exact!). So, I guess that marked me. I have to admit that I enjoy music more when it's in English. However, there are exeptions; like the previously mentioned tune!
Hard Rock to Heavy Metal (not Death Metal and similar crap). Older stuff preferred.
the classics, I get to see the Who live next year!!
My favourite genre of music is film scores. Some films with great scores: Kill Bill, Dances With Wolves, Star Wars, Shawshank, Forrest Gump, Last Samurai.
John Williams, Hans Zimmer, Alan Silvestri are modern day Mozarts.
80s new wave and synth pop plus Depeche Mode's versatile style of music
fav type of music would b rock, punk rock som pop rock.... jus good rock and stuff like linkin park, yellowcard, the used, blink 182, kisschasy, after the fall, gyroscope, fall out boy, goo goo dolls etc..... lots of varitey i spose...
I really like the techno music on gta 3 on rise fm
I also enjoy the film score genre. Recent faves are Passion of the Christ, Lord of the Rings, and Titanic. I also like a lot of the 90's Disney soundtracks (Aladdin, Lion King, Beauty & the Beast, ect.) On the rock side, there are tons of great movie soundtracks: The Wall, Tommy, Hedwig, to name a few.
Gotta go with the hairbands from the Hard Rock 80's.
rock is good.
RnB/hip hop but old stuff like En Vogue, Destiny's Child in their early days, Lauryn Hill, TLC....can't stand all the one hit wonders like some Ciaras or whatever they call themselves these days
I can't categorize the sound which I like, but here a few of them
Red Hot Chili Peppers, My Chemical Romance, Franz Ferdinand, Bloc Party, Death Cab for Cutie, The Rakes, Maximo Park, Kaiser Chiefs, Jet, The Killers, Ghinzu, Mando Diao, The Strokes, Longwave, Depeche Mode, Rammstein, Air, Jamiroquai, The Brand new Heavies, Foo Fighters, Green Day, Blink 182, Jimmy eat World, Tenacious D, St. Germain, Royksopp, Saint Etienne, Massive Attack, Gorillaz, Coldplay, Keane....
Earlier during my youth (sometimes today too): Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Sick of it all, NoFX (& Me first and the gimme gimmes), A tribe called Quest, Rakim, Smashing Pumpkins, Millencollin, Lagwagon, Beastie Boys, Bad Religion, Deftones (fav. White Pony), Nine Inch Nails, Oasis, Blur, REM...
Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin are the best.
I was using hardcore as a slang word, as it commonly is in my area. You're right, neither are my scene. What I meant to say was I'm really into pop music.
it depends on the mood........ the shins, DMB, Metallica, The Fray, Coldplay....I'm all over the place
currently I'm listening in endless loops: Metric, The Killers, The Strokes.
I'd listen to a band that combined all three, they'd be called: The Killer Metric Strokes.
good call, I love the killers
I like most of them, but there are some that I've never heard of. I'll check 'em out.
My current favorite is The New Pornographers.
Cool, I will check the new pornographers too, sounds interesting
But be aware that the bands I have listed are part of different genres
ill check the new pornographers out but sounds kinda weird.
I love many different types of music, but lately I have been mostly listening to Country.
I think it's fair enough to say it's all about trance and techno right.
I'm into industrial and synth pop. My favorite group by far is VNV Nation. Are there any other VNV fans here?
Hip Hop - on the way to a tennis match this is perfect
Classical or Jazz.
I listen to everything. In particular rock, a.k.a System of a Down, Metallica, Red Hot Chili Peppers. Jimi Hendrix too.
Separate names with a comma.
