What is your worst tennis or sports injury?

Not really..........

Wow thats crazy you didn't feel any pain

When it first happened it felt like I had just pulled something, not painful but stressed. I walked it off and kept playing (bad move). Next morning my knee looked the size of a grapefruit, so I fugured something was wrong  Used the RICE method to try and heal myself but after 2 weeks I noticed that when I bent down it felt like I couldn't get up. An MRI later and I had 2 small tears in my right knees meniscus.

Cheers, TennezSport

Separated shoulder (right) in a car accident. Then had the same shoulder come out of place while pitching in a varsity baseball game.

Right knee. Patella (knee cap) broken in half, patella tendon split down the middle, several miniscus torn, inclding a tear of the muscle, and ACL.

Nothing major. Scariest was a tall lob to the eye; was playing with my fiancee so I ran up and went to hit a pancake two hand shot... missed my racquet, hit me dead in the eye. Couldn't focus on anything and the one pupil was constricted for an hour or two. Slowly went back to normal, but it was a scary hour.

Another annoyance: pulled or tore (enough to cause a noticeable bump) my abdominals when serving, once in highschool, once after college. Painful as hell to do pretty much anything.

Rolled an ankle once. A bit annoying. Sore rotator cuff which isn't a problem now that I play with a lighter racquet.

That's about it.

My worst tennis injury was a broken wrist after slipping and falling during practice. What's crazy is that the training staff kept telling me it was a sprain, so I continued to play with it for about a week. When the swelling didn't ease up, and it didn't respond to treatment, they finally sent me out for x-rays.

Broken Ankles, Broken wrists. Grade 2 separated shoulder. But the worst was a badly sprained right ankle after running around a backhand on a lefty serve...bad idea. At least i hit a winner past the net guy!

Got plunked in the rib area by a 90+ mph fastball playing baseball some 15 years ago.
Couldn't play for a month.
Pissed blood for 2 years.

Lots of medical tests, etc. - the only thing they 'found' is that it "might be" a slightly torn spleen.

^^^Are you sure the blood in the urine was related?
Uh... seeing as the blood appeared the morning after getting hit, yes.
You'd understand the relation better if you'd ever seen a 90+ MPH fastball, I reckon.

That it endured for 2 years was likely due to something internal not being able to heal properly because I am fairly physically active. Had I stayed in bed for a month, it would likely have stopped bleeding inside me.
I felt fine and functioned normally after the initial pain of a month or so.

My mate has lost most vision in one eye from being hit in the same eye by an indoor cricket ball.

Multiple surgeries etc etc but nothing's gonna fix it :(

I fractured my scaphoid bone playing football (not american football). Rather, the person who tripped me broke it!

sprained my left ankle... thanks to playing with my usual playing partner (who's really really good) in the evenings at my varsity...

ran for a backhand drive, hit one clear winner, mis-step, *crack...

and out for 4 weeks

This just happened about an hour ago... after taking my split step was running to the left, then it hit the net court and i slipped while trying to go right...

I've played tennis twice since both broken big toes, and I am surprised that I haven't gotten rusty!!! I have a tournament Friday and I'm liking my draw... We'll see what happens.

closed stance backhand volley while coming up to net, dropped my right foot a tad early and my weight kept moving forward and i fell, the whole side of my shin got scrapped(only a flesh wound) and stopping the fall with my right hand sprained some joint inside so i couldnt do pushups without it hurting, it still bothers me but fading away

cutting my finger on a tennis ball can lid. :)

sike. It was actually in bball I broke my finger.

happened to me many times, which is why i always have a pack of bandage tape in my bag, its only a dollar at Walmart and it works great

a low skidding volley was hit to my forehand and i tried to brush up on the ball.. my face got in the way of my racquet and got a nasty wack on the nose.. bleeding all over the court..

golf wise, i somehow managed to sprain my ankle while hitting a shot.. still trying to comprehend how i did that..

When I was maybe 11 or 12 years old I was playing pesäpallo (Finnish version of baseball) with my friends. One of my friends accidentally hit my hand with the bat (it was actually my fault), and one bone from my right hand (the one that connects to little finger) was broken. Although it healed fast, I still have problems with it if I have to do something monotonous that puts too much pressure on the bone.

I played soccer without a proper warm up and stretched my right leg for the ball. I heard a loud tear and shooting pain in my inside thigh and groin. I couldnt even climb into bed for a week I was in so much discomfort, I had a bruise about 6 inches wide from my trunk down past my knee. It took about a month to heal and maybe a year before I felt close to 100%.

Had one of my players dislocate his right shoulder swinging too hard at a floater volley/almost overhead this spring. Poor guy - the head of his humerus was sitting left about 4-5" from normal - hurt like a mofo. Felt really bad for him too - a senior just about ready to win a spot in the state tourney.

Did the wrist snap to increase power and spin while serving and severely torn ligaments in my right wrist. I was in huge pain when I used my wrist and had problems writing. Doctor thought I might need surgery but I rested it for over a year and it healed fairly well. The wrist however has never been quite the same.

When I was a kid 8-9 years old me and my partner were practicing on one side of the court while two other players were practicing smashes on the other side of the court. Well when I was practicing volleys I got hit right in my left eye buy on of the smashes. I couldn't see or open that eye for like 2 hours. That was a scary moment. :(

pesäpallo... lol was it like an aluminum baseball bat?

My worst injury has been a flat forhand in the OUCH area!

A guy i know missed the ball and his racquet somehow ended breakin his nose.

Tennis: Worst have been sprained ankles and the last of those was 2 years ago..some of these injuries in here from tennis are pretty shocking.

Football (soccer): shin being hacked had me land on my knee, couldn't run properly for a few weeks.

Snowboarding: Back injury after a pretty bad fall. Was hard even walking for a week..nothing too serious though.

Tennis-Rotator cuff and wrist. Suffered the rotator injury from serving and the wrist from regular groundstrokes. It happened in February and both injuries are still very bad. Looking for a reputable acupuncturist or myotherapist in my area. Very unfortunately for me, I don't know when to stop. When I was serving I was playing through pain but I kept going.

Snowboarding-Knee. Came off a jump doing a method with my weight behind my legs and tweaked my knee. Suffered it in January, and has been feeling much better as of the last two months. But I must've strained muscles in my leg because I've lost a ton of flexibility and they feel very tight sometimes. I also still feel a click when I bend my knees while standing.

Basketball-Achilles. Jumped for a loose ball or something, and landed with all my weight on my heel. This took about a year and a half until I could walk without some pain and the tendons still feel tight sometimes.

The last two years have been **** for me. I haven't been able to consistently play any of the sports I love. Tennis, basketball, hockey, snowboarding. I can't play any sports right now, and I can't even weightlift.

Well, I had my torn meniscus worked on last Friday (the 24th), and so far, no problems. Not even any pain at all, which I find kinda weird. I've been able to hobble around without crutches the last couple of days, so hopefully, this recovery won't be a long process.

when I was 16, I was playing rugby for my school and a soab intentionally kicked my head while I was in the ground. I had a concussion that left me out of the fields for 2 weeks. The wrost things is that we didn't have any reserves left for the match, so I had to finish it, with nauseas and without feeling my body
