Hey guys, tried to identify this mono string on cross line. I was given this string as part of a trade and since then, i've been hybriding it with yonex tour pro. it gave my son better feel and sound. also easy on his elbow. His string got broken the other day and i am out of that mono string. he is currently not happy with all yonex tour pro.. lol
this mono looks like it little bit twisted.. not sure..

I am trying to buy the exact same mono.. but if anyone has a better suggestion, i am all ears.

Thank you so much jimmy. my son won't hate me anymore.. lol would you have a better recommendation in similar price range? or that's one of the best for that price range?
The patents expired on the syn guts with wraps years ago, so they’re pretty equivalent from each manufacturer, especially in a hybrid. Check Wilson Synthetic Gut Power and Gamma Syn Gut with Wearguard if you want to compare at a lower price point! Prince is probably priced high because it was the best selling string on the market for over a decade.

Do a search online for:

Kirschbaum Reel Synthetic Gut Tennis String

very nice.. thanks a lot guys, i'll look for those synthetic guts. i didn't realize prince was priced high as it seemed cheaper than poly tour. Now i learned they are not expensive strings.

Also, Head Synthetic PPS is probably the same string. I wouldn't splurge on a reel until you've decided which string you like best. 20 years ago, almost all the synthetic guts were gold or natural (kind of opaque). Now, you can get gold, but it's not that common. Gosen OG Micro is also a nice string, but it doesn't have the obvious wraps that Prince Syn w/Duraflex, Head Syn PPS, Wilson Syn Power and Gamma Syn w/Wearguard have.

Agreed with this. They’re not all terribly different. Coatings and number of wraps differ slightly but synthetic gut is generally all about the same. Especially in a hybrid. You just have wrapped and not.

The main exception for me is Gosen og sheep micro. It seems extra crispy compared to the others for me but it’s been awhile since I used it. Somebody mentioned kirschbaum syn gut. It doesn’t have wraps as far as I know. But some folks really like it. It’s pretty low cost per entry on this category of strings so you can find what you need relatively cheaply.

thanks a lot guys.. I am very satisfied with this string the way it performed.. felt the same or even slightly better with better control. new things everyday.. Makes me wonder why i don't see many are using synthetic guts
