Flemish(fluent)
Afrikaans(can help myself)

Swahili(one of the most spoken African languages) (can help myself)

I am learning Ebonics.

Ebonics: “Man foo, i think dis busta needs to get his caps out dis club 'afore i drop em in the street.”
English: “I think that this man should evacuate his friends from this drinking establishment before I murder him and lay his dead corpse in a public driving location.”

Ebonics: “Yo son, you best not talk to me like dat dog, im liable to be splittin some wigs up in dis mug if you keep disrespectin like that...so ignant..”
English: “Hello acquaintance. I would appreciate it if you didn't speak to me in that way. If you continue, I might start firing fast moving projectiles into people's skulls in this general vicinity. You are very ignorant.”

Ebonics: “Man, he dropped a dime on dat whip. i thinks he gots that on tha corna lot of big g's auto. i gots to pimp that chrome.”
English: “That fellow spent a lot of cash on his automobile. I believe that he processed the transaction in the main gangsters automobile store. I sure would love to drive that fine automobile.”

Ebonics: “dem ho's keep tryin to buck my rides but they kno that i ain't givin em they nickels if they still kick it off the heezy and bounce. for real tho.”
English: “My female prostitutes continue to hijack my cars, but they know that if they keep doing this, they will not receive their 1/25 gram of their cocaine if they keep leaving their houses. This is true.”

Ebonics: Wats good?
English: How are you?

Ebonics: Holla Back!
English: Get back to me later.

Ebonics: Fall Back.
English: Just get off of my back, please.

Ebonics: On some true.
English: Seriously.

Only English.

I learned French in school but where I live in Canada there is no one to speak it to so I never spoke it in over 10 years. Every time I go to Quebec I start to re-learn it fast but of course forget nouns. It's so weird going back to Ontario where everyone's speaking English again.

I speak Swedish,Danish,Norweigan and English fluently.
German fairly much, and a little bit Spanish.
I also speak the TW-language:)

Two dialects in cantonese

toisan (taishanese) and regular canto

I only know enough mandarin it navigate. conversationally, I'd look like an idiot.

I've tried but could never understand conversation in Cantonese. I'll stick with Shanghainese and Mandarin Chinese i guess O.O

That actually pretty amazing! Where/why did you learn Swahili ?...

About me:

Bulgarian(native)
English(fluent, I guess)
German(fluent)

I can also understand most slavic languages, but this goes for all of us slavs. So it's nothing special really. I learned Spanish sometime ago, but due to lack of motivation I abandoned it, probably a big mistake... But I may try to learn it once again.

I only speak English fluently.

I can umpire a match in French, Spanish and German though. And I can get around with basic questions and answers in French and German.

Native Spanish, what I want to believe is fluent English, I can pidgin my way on in Dutch and I can make sense of French, Italian and German texts. A few loose words here and there in some other languages, many of them not to be used in polite company.

english, spanish, punjabi (and hindi, urdu), and math.

i feel bad for people who speak only one language. so much music, movies totally foregone.

I spent 8 years in Democratic Republic of the Congo where my dad used to run some small businesses.
Used to be able to speak Swahili and Lingala(another well spread language there) but haven't spoken them since i left Africa.

English native, Spanish to a near fluent level (can't talk about stuff like quantum physics or mathematical theories, but you get what I'm saying), understand a good deal of Mandarin (can't speak it well anymore), can read and understand basic Italian and Portuguese. I can also understand a small amount of German as well as a tiny amount of Swedish. The next language I want to study is Euskara.

Euskara? Really? But there are so many languages more useful that are also interesting.

The only language I know is English but I would like to learn Spanish some day. I thought about buying Rosetta Stone but damn its expensive, it costs around $500 dollars for the complete set. A lot more people in the US know Spanish especially people who come up north from Mexico and other South American countries so I think maybe not now but sometime in the future it would be essential to learn the Spanish language.

You're not gonna learn a language with Rosetta Stone.

Nope. That's the truth.

Of the audio software, Pimsleur is by far the best--but only if you buy the full sets; none of the smaller packages is tailored for anything but phrasebook-style learning. None of the other programs comes close.

But even then, there's no substitute for learning the language among native speakers. A college or high-school course is OK, but it'll only take one so far. Without using the language daily with other speakers of that language, you'll become stagnant and fossilized in your speech.

English (Native)
Farsi/Persian (Bilingual)
Spanish (Decent but should be better considering I go to Spain often and my wife is fluent)
Polish (slowly learning, common phrases so far)
