Is this a stylistic thing? You're entitled to your opinion, but why wouldn't you want to watch a match between the two best hardcourters in the world?

I cannot imagine why any of the bolded would be on someones list. Maybe if you're some lame big 3 fan rather than tennis fan I can see why you wouldn't be interested in the two US Open matches, but no such easy dismissal applies to this weekends coming one.

Also, how are the 2017 US Open final and 2018 Wimbledon final not on here? :-D

2013 Nadal vs Ferrer Roland Garros for sure, everyone knew whoever won the Nadal vs Djokovic SF was going to cruise in the final. The Nadal vs Anderson 2017 US Open final was a close 2nd.

*I can understand people putting the 2018 Djokovic vs Anderson Wimbledon as well, Djokovic is a huge favorite against Anderson in any situation, but Anderson had just played 2 ridiculous marathons in a row and had absolutely nothing in the tank for that match. Personally I still very much anticipated it as that was Djokovic's first slam final since his slump and I wasn't sure he'd ever be back as a slam contender after his form earlier that year.

It's close between Cilic Nishikori and Murray Raonic. Thiem Zverev was hilarious because neither of them wanted to win, but it was at least marginally more exciting than the other 2 finals.

When the big 3 retire, tennis will take a massive hit. There are no true rivalries outside the big 3. The most exciting thing about men's tennis outside the big 3 is Kyrgios - and that's saying something!

Is this a trick question ? The match Rafa played with Anderson on the last day of the USO 2017.

Djokovic-Anderson at Wimbledon in 2018. Nothing against either of those two players, but given the clash with the World Cup final (admittedly only for 30 minutes or so in the end), it was basically a completely irrelevant sporting event in comparison.

I wasn't excited at all about Djokovic-Murray at the Australian Open in 2016, as it was case of groundhog day with Djokovic beating Murray in Melbourne yet again. I was far more excited about their RG final later on that year, given that we'd either see Djokovic becoming the first man in 47 years to hold all 4 slams at the same time, or Murray winning the slam that many of us assumed he had no chance of winning.

I still haven't watched Thiem vs. Zverev although not because of them specifically but because empty stadiums I've watched little sport last year.

So that's #1 I guess technically. I've seen at least some part of all finals since 99 Wimbledon (live).

Anyway here's my list:
1. Zverev/Thiem
2. Anderson/Nadal
3. Ferrer/Nadal
4. Anderson/Djokovic
5. Medvedev/ Nadal

As a Canadian I was super excited for Raonic final. Probably Top 5.

2013 French Open - Ferrer stood no chance (Djokodal semis were the real finals)
2014 Australian - I thought Nadal would've rolled Stan after seeing him dispatch Fed in the semis (probably would have with a fully functioning body tbh)
2017 Wimbledon - Cilic stood no chance
2017 US Open - Anderson stood no chance (Nadpo semis were the real finals)
2018 Wimbledon - Anderson stood no chance (Djokodal semis were the real finals) + same day/time as the WC finals
2020 US Open - we all know Thiem & Zverev got there because 2 of the big 3 didn't play and the other got DQ'd

I didn't include 2014 USO because I was quite curious to see how a non-big 3/4 finals would play out. 2016 Wimbledon interested me because a Canadian had a chance to win a major.

2018 Wimbledon Final - Clash with the World Cup final and the underdog had played a 6.5 hour semi.

2013 French Open - no chance at all for Ferrer. Real final played two days before.

Thiem/Zverev shouldn't be first on anyone's list unless you absolutely hate both players. That's only hindsight talking. It's not even close on the basis of lack of pre match excitement to something as unexciting as RG 2013, USO 2017, or Wimbledon 2018 which were all foregone conclusions before the first ball was struck.

Even as a Rafa fan I just saw the final as a lap of honour.

I spent all my energy and emotion in that crazy 5 setter SF I was depleted after that, the real job was done so to speak.

It’s **** or bust for Med tonight. He simply has to win otherwise he’ll be added to the pile of Fedalovic career kills.

I’m not excited for the tennis but I am excited about the implications of the match and also any potential villain Vs villain dramas between the two.
