What music are you listening to? v1.0

Whoa, blast from the past. I don't listen to much of the stuff I used to..
I'd say my tastes are a lot more toned down these days.
I've been listening to the Counting Crows for several years, and continue to play their stuff on a daily basis.

A few of the bands that I'm currently listening to:
Augustana, Foo Fighters, Jaymay, Leigh Nash, Natalie Walker, Sara Bareilles (if you haven't listened to her non-radio stuff, I highly recommend her. She's amazing, but her radio stuff is kind of mind numbingly meh).

I don't get the buzz around him. Some people talk about him like if he was the new SRV or something.
Yeah, I can't get into him or Jack Johnson, although I do like JJ. They've just got sort of distinctive styles, but at the same time, a lot of their songs end up sounding the same.

Not usually my cup of tea, but I downloaded the Tinie Tempah album at the weekend as I went to see him at a gig in Norwich on Monday. Don't mind the album, but that boy puts on a fine show.

Apart from that, been revisiting some of my old Black Keys albums. Sounding very Hendrixian...

Lots of Metal (White Chapel, MyChildren MyBride, August Burns Red, Applaud the Impaler, Norma Jean's newest is rather good IMO, Etc) i dig'em, but they might not be great to some
Some hardcore (Mostly Bison B.C.-Sounds like Converge and Backstabbers Inc. had a baby)
Some indie rock stuff-really like Freelance Whales for some reason, You Say Party! We Say Die!, LCD Soundsystem (just got into them), Japandroids has a good rock vibe that i've been listening to for a while now.
Some Folky stuff too-City and Color, Iron and Wine, Mumford and Sons, and my friend's band, Bonyero? can't remember the spelling...

recording a new song at the moment so revisiting my band's other songs, otherwise Nothingface are playing in the background, all albums.

I just pulled my old turntable out of the attic and dusted off the LP's. My 5yo asked me what those big black discs were lol! "Giant CD's"

He didn't go for Jaco Pastorius or Miles. Right now he's rocking out to "the Cars - Tonight she Comes" for the 8th time and counting.. :( His air guitar with my tennis racquet is priceless though!

I'll have to see if he goes for Rush or Led Zep next.

Some soundtracks of Hans Zimmer on youtube.

He did such a great job with the Inception score. The music in that film had such a strong part.

Currently I have Mumford and Sons on steady repeat....again.

Also been listening to the new Deerhunter- "Halcyon Digest" Incredible album.

That's until he gets tired of the song, and asks you to fast forward to the next track

Kanye West's new album got leaked (it's not supposed to drop until the 22nd.) It's called "My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy" for a reason. There's no way a sane person could have made this album. You can listen to the entire thing online if you look in the right places.

This is not a rap album. It's art.
