Fun with three dots. Sorry, it had to be done. Nothing personal. Jeff.

Good taste! Seems you like Billy Corgan (Smashing Pumpkins), I recently listen to 1979, tonight tonight and Bullet with butterfly wings
Funny, you learn a lot about someone (and possibly their friends, siblings and influences) by their soundtrack.
Sometimes, it is obscure band one-upsmanship. Outcool me with your Sigur Ros? I'll say Bauhaus. What? Interpol? Hmmm, Raul Midon.
Good tastes on this thread, by the way. You hipsters. Esp. safin protege.
Me? Not very cutting edge. The last few songs my iTunes just spun were by:
Radiohead
Holy Barbarians
Jurassic 5
Orchestra Baobab
U2
Zwan
Run DMC
X
Yannick Noah
Jeff Buckley
The Smiths
The Clash
YoYoMa
George Winston
Eric B and Rakim
The Cult
Springsteen
drivin'n'cryin'
Ben Harper
The Spinners
The Stones
White Stripes
Seahorses
The Sex Pistols
and The Beatles.
Right now, it is 'Flute Loop' by the Beastie Boys. Well, now it is 'Hurricane' by Bob Dylan.
Edit: now it is 'the Unseen Power of the Picket Fence' by Pavement: a little early nineties flavor from the No Alternative Compilation.....which reminds me of 'Verse-Chorus-Verse' by Nirvana.

I love that song!tykrum said:I have been listening to Beautiful Love by The Afters a lot recently. Just a catchy pop/rock song. It happens to be the theme song to the show 8th and Ocean I guess.
Some of what I listen to includes...
Ted Leo and the Pharmacists
The Mars Volta
The Smashing Pumpkins
Sigur Ros
The Fray
Eve 6
Elliott Smith
Michael Andrews (or actually, just that one song in Donnie Darko, "Mad World")
The Subways
UVERworld
Kings of Convenience
The Shins
Clap Your Hands Say Yeah
Stars
Keane
Spoon
Homemade Kazoku
Augustana
BC Camplight
Foo Fighters
Goo Goo Dolls
Gorillaz
Nirvana
Gregory and the Hawk
Jack's Mannequin
Our Lady Peace
Pearl Jam
The Arcade Fire
The Decemberists
The Doves
I had more, and actually, the majority of the stuff on the ones I listed is kind of mellow. That's fine, but I didn't put down a lot of classic rock. Oh well.

I know what you mean. I'm already starting to feel a bit lost in some of the music the younger generations listen to. It's amazing how "the music changes through the years" (Radio Ga Ga, Queen) but there will always be good and bad in every genre.bluegrasser said:Man, I must be getting old, I don't know of any of the above songs, growing up in the sixties/seventies I never thought the day would come when I'd say; " I just don't get it !"
Bring it on ! - "Zep, Who, Deep Purple, Yes, Stones, Captain Beyond."....
I'm sure todays tennis isn't really tennis to you either. You probably play in long trousers, with wooden sticks and white balls. Well, the game moved on and progressed and so did the music. Go figure.tykrum said:Don't worry, I'm 21 and I don't know any of those songs either. It's all house/trance/dance music, which to me, no offense to this guys list, isn't really music.
How about 'Sugar Will' by Dave Matthews Band? Anyone ever heard of it?
And Janne, heard their new song 'Danni California'? Awesome stuff. Going to get the cd right after my final on Tuesday.

"Dani California" is one of the cheesiest tunes by RHCP. Huge disappointment for die hard RHCP fans. Got saved by that cool video, though.
