What on earth is going on?

I have been participating in a thread entitled Serious discussion on Monfils .

http://tt.tennis-warehouse.com/showthread.php?t=104915

My first post in the thread was left alone, but every subsequent post (5 in total) have been systematically removed. I have not said a single inappropriate thing, and more importantly have not violated any forum rules.

http://tt.tennis-warehouse.com/showthread.php?t=18225

I tried to ask the moderators what is going on by sending a report on the forum posting rules thread to no avail. I have asked the same question within the Monfils thread to see why they are being pulled, again to no avail. I have emailed someone at TW, but have not yet received an answer.

So, to whichever mod keeps deleting my posts, wouldn't it make more sense to post why you are repeatedly removing the posts and ask me to stop posting in that thread (assuming you can site a legitimate rules violation) It would save a lot of time and effort on both of our parts.
I am new here and maybe this type of thing goes on anonymously all the time, but I am use to normal forums that have a PM system, and moderators who inform why they remove certain posts and are not delete happy, unless specific rules are being violated.

So what gives?

The exact same thing happened in the your picture thread! Many posts were deleted without logical reason.Especially as most posts in this thread are off topic! If mods deleted the off-topic posts the thread would be half-deleted!

I know you are trying to convey a point, but I do not understand what you are trying to get across with the off topic issue?

BTW- I did not know posts were deleted from the pros keeping their eye on the ball thread. That would be a shame.:-(

I mean that they do not contain pictures. Most have comments about pictures or even general discussion..So,they are off topic according to the thead title..

You take yourself far too seriously

Look, if I mess up I can admit it and take responsibility. However when my posts are being pulled over and over (presumably by the same mod) yet violate no forum rule, then I would like to know why?

Wouldn't you:confused:

Not really because what happens here is a diversion for me and it's not significant to anything else in my real life.

Would you care to tell me what was deleted?

Fair enough, but if I go through the effort to read and post on a forum, and abide by the rules I do not expect to get "special treatment" so to speak.

As to what was deleted, it was several responses to other posters, mainly about political correctness, and how threads about Black tennis players such as Monfils seem to devolve into discussions about race rather than their tennis abilities.

Was it the monkey behaviour thread?

Eviscerator,
I'm not sure what occurred in that thread, but can assure you we are looking into it.

Someone is clearly moderating the thread but it is very opinionated and biased
moderating. Moderator should not under-estimate its self-correcting nature.

Oh I know it! Try saying anything neagtive aboout Fedl and WHAMMO! I have never had a problem with the moderators but ever since Nadal won the French open, I have had post after post removed. On the other hand posts about nadal looking like a monkey or that Nadals uncle looks like Darth vader etc etc are all ok!

Thank you Chris.

I have heard from the moderator who is responsible for having removed my posts, and I do not agree with his reasoning. It appears to me by his email that it is a personal issue, not that he is enforcing the rules of the forum. I have asked that he not remove any of my posts in the future unless they are in violation of said rules, and that he distinguish between the rules and his personal feelings. Hopefully that will resolve the issue.

Please feel free to contact me via email if you would like to discuss this further.
I just recently found this forum despite being a TW customer for years, and like the fact that we have so many tennis fans here.

I don't think TW like monfils.... i had a thread asking if anyone saw the brilliant shot during the Monfils-(someone) match (in queens), where he hit one like fed's in the french open semi's but with a backhand rather than fh, and it got pulled too ...

I understand your point. I would say though that TW provides this forum as a service not only for it's current customers, but also as a way to attract new customer who might appreciate them having a forum like this. They, nor anyone can make everyone happy, but hopefully the majority will like the forum, and it will translate to future sales. Also keep in mind that the moderators are probably not actual TW employees, but rather just volunteer posters who have shown a capacity to be level headed. Even so, they are not all the same, and they can make misjudgments like everyone else. So you should not hold TW responsible for their human frailties. Of course if there is a repeated pattern of poor judgment on one of their moderators part, then they need to either council them, or consider removing that moderator and replacing them with someone who can do a better job.

The bottom line is that we should appreciate this forum, and realize that TW is providing this extra service for us that their competitors are not. A rogue moderator should not make us forget that fact.

The forum is a bonus. They can do whatever they want with it as far as I'm concerned.

The moderator is NOT TW employee ? or Is he/she ?
How do I find out who is the moderator ?

Anyway, I think this forum is a bonus for us customers
but it grew beyond that and I bet this forum became an invaluable
asset for TW.

I will not divulge their identity here publicly, but they are not an employee of TW to the best of my knowledge.

As with most forums, moderators are volunteers who take their time to help out on forums they have an interest in. I believe the only employees of TW that moderate the forum use the TW Staff ID.

The only time we remove posts is due to policy violations or if we feel the post is intended to insight a train wreck.

In this case, a call was made because the thread seemed to be heading in a similar direction to a previously deleted thread.

Sorry if those involved felt that some valued discourse was lost in the process.
