What plays like a Radical MP but is 16x19?

I've been toying around with a Head Radical MP and love everything about it except for the 18x20 pattern. I enjoy the flex and power level of it, but I'm looking for a little more spin production. Any recommendations for a racquet that plays similar to it (or has similar specs) but has a 16x19 pattern?

Prince O3 White or Radical Pro? It may be easier to change your string setup by going to a shaped main like Tour Bite (poly) or Gamma Ruff (syn gut). Another alternative is to go to thinner mains such as 17 Ga.

I used to play with the Rad MP..... the Speed 300 does not have the same level of plow-thru and comes across stiffer than the Rad MP....

my $.02

Head TGK 260.2 is the Radical MP with a 16x19 pattern. Very very expensive but if you have the cash it's pretty much exactly what you are looking for. :)

I have the Rad MP and love it, especially for the string pattern. Perhaps try 17 gauge strings to get more bite? Or try s hybrid with rough crosses or something. If you like everything about it except spin potential, that's actually something you can do something about. It's unlikely you'll find another racquet that meets all your need as well as this, PLUS extra spin.

I have a Microgel Radical mp, and when I was demoing I felt like the Yonex RDiS 200 Lite MP felt really similar to play with.

you add the TGK 231.3 as well. same as TGK 260.2 but i think abit more flexy.

I have hit with the mp youtek version and also like it a lot. The balance of the frame just feel so well made, and does not push your arm at all. Not the same frame, but for what you are looking for, and also a racquet that i have felt the same about its swing weight and confourtable feel is the old dunlop aerogel 300 before the 4d version. If you can get your hands on one of those, i realy recomend the racquet. plus it is a true 16*19, as the spacing between string is fairly open.

I think the tight string bed is part of what makes a Radical feel like a Radical, but I agree with what you say about spin production. Rather than switching frames right away, maybe try out a few different string set ups first. What are you using right now? Maybe try out something textured/geared in 16L/17 gauge or even go ultra-thin gauge poly (Pro Supex Big Ace Micro 18 ) or even aramid/kevlar (Forten Ultra Thin Blend)

[=BC1;6623841]Radical pro is not like radical Mp. Totally different feelxanx weight Imo. I agree with the rebel 98 comparison.

Dgdavid, what is your take on the speed 300?[/QUOTE]

The 300 is my second longest serving racket! Nice but felt lacking in mass and required a pretty fast whippy stroke which tired me out into 3rd set. Good racket though, no complaints except my game jumped up when I went from it to Prestige MP.

I don't think going with a thinner string makes a difference. I also like the Youtek Radical MP but hate the 18x20 string pattern and have tried lowering the tension and using thinner strings but for me, doesn't help much.

Best suggestion is getting the Pro stock racquets or maybe play with skipping the string pattern idea.

I think you should try the IG Radical OS. Yes it is an OS but it has a players feel to it (see reviews on TW). It is my favourite of the Radical line. Got good touch, more powerful, decent mass and spinnier than the Rad MP and more forgiving.

I agree with all of the above.... however one thing to watch for.... as it gets warmer the OS will start getting overly powerful due to the length of it's main strings and it's relatively open pattern

How about the Radical S? Its a 16x19 radical in 100" headsize, but its 10.5 oz, so u will have to lead it up to MP specs Seems like it would be worth a try.
