what racquet do you love or like that most people dislike

Idk, just a cool discussion that i could not find in the search bar. I remember the Aero Storm from 2010 being heavily criticized by many yet I love that racquet more than anything. Also talk about racquets you dislike that a lot of people like.

Without any doubt, the greatest racquet ever created was the Prince Mono. It is a great shame that it was never honoured by the tennis world as the almighty hammer of the gods that it was.

All of the original Wilson Hammers were maligned as time went by as well, but some of the best tennis of my life was played with the original Wilson Pro Staff Hammer 4.0. It was the first racquet that I ever had passion for.

the head premier tour, lots of hate for instability but i haven't had that problem with them at all. slap on a leather grip, you got a 93 headm low 60's / high 50's flex at around 12.3 ounces with an open pattern. closest thing you'll get to an open pattern prestige with buttert flex, perfect with stiff poly

I actually like the old Dunlops too. I'm not sure how much is placebo vs. how much is real but I always liked the good plowthrough and manageable power Dunlops had. With my current Pure Drive, I'm forced to go with a poly string or else I feel like I'm holding an unstable rocket cannon. I know, I know... It's my technique that's the problem... not the racquet's problem.

But my old Dunlop Aerogel 4D 300 and 500 fit my game and covered my technique issues.

Prince Tour 98 ESP and Tour Pro 100 ESP
Although I just couldn't connect with the Tour 100T ESP - go figure

Also, I didn't mind Gamma RZR frames - didn't quite love them, but didn't think they were as bad as the TW reviews

Now, the list of the frames that have fanboy posts/pages here that I didn't like - that is a much longer list

My current stick of choice Pro Staff 95s (black/red), most of my fellow club players assume its too small tho I do hit a fairly clean ball and the spin effect pattern is a love or hate addition. To me adding a leather grip and a bit of lead to even specs out and I am good to go. Ive demo'd dozens of racquets and cant pull the trigger on a switch.

Loved a racquet?
Well I have never had that close a relationship with one..
I have found many that work very well for me... some unique, some older, some newer...
Now other dislike them, well i could care less...
I try to more value in my game and not in my frame..

Does your neck ever get sore from holding up that big enlightened brain of yours?

If you find more value in your game than in equipment, then go talk strategy and technique in another sub. If you could care less, then don't post here.

Most of us here aren't going to make out livings playing tennis. Let people who enjoy gear enjoy gear.

I'm also a fan of the Aero Storms.

Pure Strike 16x19 - 2014! Really wanted to like the One7 after all the hype, but felt it was stiffer, more head heavy, and more hollow than the 2014. The One7 definitely had a bigger sweetspot/more solid feel, but that did not negate the other differences i found.

No problem there cranky pants, I let you guys here all alone in the room to "love" your racquets. I did not know I hit such a sensitive spot.
But please be gentle to the ones you dislike.
Now remember & don't worry, you still can go out to just about any court and love or dislike a racquet with out form and or technique!

On theses (you lost me a bit, but I think I decoded it) :
>Most of us here aren't going to make out livings (???) playing tennis.
Then play and stop making love to the racquet!

>Let people who enjoy gear enjoy gear (??) .
I would need stop them from loving there frames but again if they take to far, please just get a room...
Just I make sure you always use an overgrip...protect yourself..cause I care a lot ...keep it safe..

I will make sure I read the rules and guides on posting within frivolous threads.
Thanks for the tips..

Pure Strike Tour, Graphene Prestige MP & Tecnifibre TF 315 & 325 Dynacore. All great frames.

The new donnay pro one pentacore 97 16x19 is my racket of choice and it keeps amazing me the more i play with it. There's simply nothing like it out there. The stability, flex, spin is perfect for my game.

I don't think it's the racket that gets as much flak as say the company but it's still far from the level of popularity that it should be at, at least imo haha. For 15 bucks a demo what's not to like if you haven't already tried it? Can't recc enough.

A few years back I had a season or two love affair with the Wilson K Pro Tour. I remember it being pretty universally panned at the time, though hindsight may have helped it's image some in the intervening years.

Not a specific racquet but a line of frames. The Microgel series from Head impressed me, from the Radical to the Prestige Mid. They don't seem to get enough credit on these boards.
I picked up a microgel radical o/s used recently at TW.They had 6 mids and o/s available and within a few days they were all gone. They may not get any credit but they must get used...

All threads are frivolous to a degree, but I think the point being made is where one either contributes with something interesting or practically useful, or just stays out of it, rather than saying a lot of words that contribute nothing of any use or interest. Anyone with minimal knowledge can suggest to try something or just post other peoples quotes and unrelated pictures, but sometimes I think people want a response based upon experience that actually adds a bit of value.

If you haven't played enough or developed to a level where a specific racquet or type of racquet feels the best for your game, that's fine. Similarly, if you are still learning how to play and working on your technique is a priority over fine tuning your equipment, again, that's perfectly fine. I think it's just sometimes that people are asking for more specifics in terms of answers and want to actually hear others' experiences rather than just throw away comments.

If you have any knowledge, please always share it. That's the whole idea of a forum, it's not just a place to see how high a post count one can accrue.

My contribution to this thread is the Prince Exo3 Graphite 93. It seems that some liked it and others very much disliked it. Not much in the way of middle ground. A lot seemed to find it too muted and felt disconnected too much. I've seen the word 'noodle' used. I think where it shared the looks of the POG Mid, there was a high expectation, but if course the difference in feel is evident.

But I like it.

Yep I get you...
Guess I just don't get the dislike frame thing. Again basically it does not work the best for you.
And just because I really jelly with a certain frame, I don't except others to like it.
I try to guide them to be open and take the time to find the best frame for their game and not to persuaded by others, hype or other.

The Exo3's are really still an unrated frame, very low vibration and some Exo3's are quite powerful.

And really, subjectivity measures nothing consistently...
Opinions are like little kittens, everyone is giving them away....

All in fun....
Have you hugged your racquet today....?

Again, you're missing the point of the thread or most other threads where specific answers or experiences are requested. Anyone with zero knowledge could say "use what works best for you". That's laughably obvious, when compared to reverse of that suggestion "use what works the worst for you". Of course anyone will use what works best for them, but some want practical responses and tangible ideas.

This thread is asking if anyone likes a particular racquet that is perhaps not very popular or that others have historically maligned. Either you have or you haven't.

And I won't be hugging my racquets when I get home from work, but one needs stringing and the other needs a re-grip.

I'd ask you if you are going to hug your racquet, but I'm not convinced you have one. If you do, tell us all about it.

I like the volkl o10 295, sg10 295 and v-sense 295. TW seemed to like the sg10 but the others have lukewarm reviews. For me, these are great platform rackets and the basic feel of the frame is very good.

Anyone with zero knowledge is perfect for this thread. You might want to stay here. If it missed the point I am sure thankful. Thanks so much for your highly useful tips and compliments. They are not laughable at all. I am certainly not in this world to live up to your expectations and you're not in this world to live up to mine.

I do not have a few Angell TC97 customs (& more)..

The difference is, I happily admit that I don't have much knowledge, but I do my best to share what I have. Funny you say that anyone with zero knowledge is perfect for this thread....you jumped into it before I did .

And I think it's summed up in your final line though.....do you really mean that you don't have any Angell racquets, or other racquets? A typo I'm sure, but it made me laugh.

But, as you are part of this thread, joining in around post 18, which is the racquet you like but others have expressed no fondness towards?
