What replacement grips/overgrips do you guys recommend?

I currently have a Head Hydrocontrol grip and Tournagrip for my overgrip but I've found that long periods of play cause me to get small blisters on my hand because I don't sweat. I am looking for maybe thicker/cushioned and more tackier replacement and overgrips.

Ones I've been looking at Yonex Supergrap, Prince Duratac, and Head Super Comp for new overgrips. For replacement grips, I've been looking at Wilson K-Grip, Technifibre X-Tra, and Head Hydrosorb. What do you guys think of these for those who have used some of these?

This might sound crazy but I'd recommend buying a pack of each that you want to try. Maybe split the cost with two friend and let them they it too. Easy way to find your perfect overgrip.

Colored overgrips also play different from their white counter part.

playing alot of tennis will give you blisters no matter what......try some softer grips....i remember i used some Prince grip that was really soft, but i forgot the name...........

are´nt hydrocontrol and hydrosorb the same thing? I think in buying one of those to replace my three OG with no grip. is too hard on my hand and after I finish playing, my hand hurts.

I think your idea of going to a tackier grip to cut down on blisters is a good one.

My faves -- for quite a while now -- are Gamma Hi-Tech replacement and Wilson X-Tra Tack overgrip. Dunlop Hydratac is also an excellent overgrip. I used Prince Duratac repl and overgrips before that -- they're also quite good.

Yikes, I see that TW is no longer carrying Wilson X-Tra Tack. That's too bad...

tourna or wilson pro over leather is what i suggest but its not for everyone, other than that head hydrosorb is a nice synthetic replacment,
and definetlley tourna or wilson pro for overgrips

Tourna grip II is the best overgrip - much more tackier than the old style.

omg...........
another one of these troubled tourna original haters. tourna is for the people that have sweaty hands when they play and that is when the Magic starts. when u sweat the gripping starts and it is godly. if ur hands dont sweat much, then tourna is not for u.

for me, i like the yonex super grap because it has just enough absorption and the durability is right where i like it. lots of color choices, which is cool for matching the style with ur racquet.

Tourna is great during the summer but during winter, it's horrible for me.

I have played with Super Grap and it's a nice grip , a little better than Wilson Pro. I however though that Pro Supex grips(white ones) were better than Super Graps.

p.s. Have to add, PS Grips are a little thicker than normal overgrips. I think they are around .7 mm while the others are .6 or .5 mm.

I recently tried out Head Xtremesoft and like the name says it is really soft. Kind of looks funny with the holes with the black version for whatever reason.

Yonex Supergrap is always a great choice.

Too me, Wilson Pro is the best grip i've ever used. I've used all kinds of overgrips from tournagrip to prince, and this grip has the best playability. But, it isnt exactly durable. It lasts me about 10 hours of play.

Gamma Supreme Overgrip is the best overgrip, I've ever had the pleasure of using - no contest.

It stays smooth, tacky and soft for a longer period compared to Yonex SuperGrap and Wilson Pro Overgrip.

I used to change overgrip after 2 sessions or 1 session and 1 match, when I used Wilson Pro Overgrip. With Yonex Supergrap I can go 3 sessions or 2 sessions and 1 match before I need to change the overgrip.
With Gamma Supreme Overgrip I can easily go 4 sessions or 3 sessions and 1 match before I need to change the overgrip. This is a record for me.

When I used Wilson Pro Overgrip, the grip didn't even get dirty before I felt I needed to change it. With Yonex Supergrap the grip can get somewhat dirty before I need to change it.
When I use Gamma Supreme Overgrip I actually continue to use it - even after it's beginning to get pretty dirty - because it still feels great :D

And for the record - I have none what so ever to do with the Gamma Company and I'm not sponsored by them either
I just have to praise a great product, when I finally get to experience one - and Gamma Supreme Overgrip is the best of the best, if you want white, tacky, absorbing, durable and soft feeling over grip.

I would rate them like this:

Gamma Supreme Overgrip: 6/6
Yonex Supergrap: 5/6
Wilson Pro Overgrip: 4.5/6
Tournagrip II: 4/6
Tournagrip I: 3/6 (I have dry hands and hate this overgrip)

WOW - 10 hours!!

I get 2 sessions or 1 session and 1 match - equivalent to circa 3-4 hours - out of 1 Wilson Pro Overgrip and then it just dies on me. Feels like cr_ap, begins to harden and feels just plain awful

Yonex Supergrap, which many claims are made in the same factory as Wilson Pro Overgrip, is better in my view. It's softer, a bit thicker and lasts 1-2 hours longer before it start to harden and loose it's softness and smoothness.

Gamma Supreme Overgrip beats both Wilson Pro and Yonex Supergrap in my view - it's simply a better over grip in all categories, from durability to smoothness, softness & tackiness.

You should try it ;-)

My hands don't sweat at all and I use Gamma Grip 2.

I like thin overgrips, but Tournagrip and Babolat VS were giving me blisters. GG2 is just as thin and has similar tack/feel to Wilson Pro or Yonex Supergrap IMO.

After this thread, I tried Wilson Pro and I really liked it. Recently, I put a water bottle into the same compartment as my overgrips and the bottles had some water dripping on the outside and it managed to wet my overgrips. A few days later when I put them on, I really liked the feel more! It had a really soft feeling than before. I'm not sure if they ruin the durability a lot but I might start wetting my Wilson Pro's just a bit and letting them dry in room temperature.

I'm also going to order a pack of Gamma Supreme and Yonex Supergrap to see how these compare. I also have dry hands and they rarely sweat so I prefer soft/cushy, tacky overgrips.

i think gamma supreme is the best as well... although lately my hands have been sweating like crap so i have to use tournagrip

So is gamma pro wrap like tourna? is it just as good at moisture absorbancy? i would like to try the white color. anybody try it out? is it good?

and my guess is that the gamma supreme is a better version than wilson pro or yonex super grap. sounds good i want to try! i thought that the gamma grips were not good. gamma is terribly underestimated.

clubhouno, i remember seeing ur M prestiges on some thread of urs. u had the gamma supreme? looks good !

Yeahhhhhh - I have the Gamma Supreme Overgrip on my 2 Head Microgel Prestige Pro's at the moment. Unfortunately bought 3 X 30 pack of the Yonex Supergrap Overgrip, so will have to use this up before I start using Gamma Supreme Overgrip on all my 6 rackets :D

The Gamma Supreme Overgrip is a very underestimated overgrip in my view.
Used to love Wilson Pro Overgrip, then hated it because it didn't last long and gave me blisters, then fell in love with Yonex Supergrap and still think Supergrap is a great overgrip, but Gamma Supreme Overgrip is just a bit better in all areas.

for some reason, yonex falls apart really easily on me. the outside of the over grip rips fast.

on the gamma pro wrap, how is the quality compared to tourna. is it just as good? and is it longer and does it start off straight or in that curve with the sticky like super grap or po over?

idk about pro wrap but i know that with gamma supreme both ends of grip are tapered but there is no adhesive on either end. it seems pretty long because i always have a lot of grip left over when i wrap it.

Leather, I'd say Gamma for the price, or Wilson for the performance.

Synthetic I think it's Babolat Syntec Grip

Overgrip, try Wilson Pro, Wilson Pro Soft, Yonex Supergrap. All nice overgirps.

I went ahead and bought a pack of the Gamma Supreme overgrips and I really like it but I still think Wilson Pro is a little bit better. I will probably stick with Gamma though because Wilson Pro is great for the first 2-3 hours but after I don't really like it. Gamma Supreme stays soft and fairly tacky even after a couple of hours and it starts getting dirty.
