What shot gives you the most satisfaction?

Just curious to see what single shot gives you guys the most satisfaction - whether it's something you've worked hard on and are now seeing the fruits of your labour or something that just gives you an instant sense of gratification.

For me it's either a clutch serve when facing break points or a stop volley winner.

Never had any big weapons, and now playing mostly doubles, but I've always had good touch at the net. A tight drop volley has always been satisfying!

Personally I find a shot of tequila very rewarding. Otherwise it will have to be a beautifully spun OHBH

A nice drop shot. A wrong footer. A nice punch volley.

I struggle to think of just the one. Basically though, one that is more down to skill and the fruits of ones practice rather than just brute power.

Although there are certain opponents I will play against whereby a firmly hit shot into their body feels bloody brilliant.

Wrong footing the opponent with a deep forehand inside out.:twisted:

Mostly a difficult, fully stretched backhand half volley, for a short angle winner, mixed with the same half volley going DTL low and deep.
Low percentage for me, but satisfying to the max.

a well struck, well angled, well paced one handed backhand winner, zooming past a flabergasted two-hander afficionado, aaahh the pure joy :-)

Frame shot serve return winner on break point, because then I get to feign remorse as I apologize for stealing your game.

Friend of mine has been having problems with his serves, so last week, he served a ball off the top of the head of his racket, the ball going pretty high, just over the net, and spinning back to his court for a clean ace, even though my partner ran up to try to hit the return.
His first ace in well over a week of tennis.

Phht. When I hit those, or better yet, dribblers over the net, I do the trademark Nadal lawnmower fist pump. Really irritates my opponents...

any shot that's stretches me to the limit and requires and all or nothing winner. eg.
1. pulled out wide on fh/bh, opponent at net, winner dtl or cc
2. sprinting for a dropshot with opponent at net, faking them out for a winner
3. stretched volley at net, for a drop shot winner

in general all these shots, put me into such a high level of focus, concentration, and intensity, that when I pull them off (infrequently), i know it was the perfect ly executed.

I'd much prefer a good passing shot than a good lob but... I do take glee in a good ts lob that slams my opponent against the back fence.

I'm much more passive aggressive. It's best when it's right before a changeover, so I can keep apologizing for stealing ther serve game all the way through the break.

I have a one handed backhand too. I love it when I get to tee up on one and go cross-court also. That's great to do when playing a league/tournament match.

When playing friends for fun in doubles it's gotta be to hit a down the line winner when your buddy is looking to poach.

Swinging one handed backhand drive volley.

Nothing more satisfying than an attacking stroke, love the aggression of it, as well as the expressions on opponent's faces as they don't expect it. 8)

I have a special shot called the mini monster smash. Run down a lob, spin around, crouch down and launch an overhead from the baseline. High risk but great reward when you catch opponents moving in. I've had about 8 nut crackers over the years.

Receiving a serve up the T in the deuce court and hitting a backhand winner up the line past the flat-footed partner of the server.

Hitting a winner on return of a good serve or sneaking in on an opponent's groundstroke and hitting a winner volley. The opponent never gets a chance to get into the point or drag the point out.

i have a few....

I love attacking the net person. Hitting them is a bonus, but the moment you see their eyes bug out and you know you own them the rest of the match is priceless.

Any shot where the reply is f*ck you.

I really love setting up my partners though. Something real satisfying about helping your partner hit a winner

drop shot where the opponent just barely gets there and barely nicks the ball off the top of the frame

down the line forehand return of serve in doubles on deuce side

successful poach and put away punch volley

Hitting 5 aces in a row from being down love-40. The question was, "why was I down love-40 if I could do that?" Never figured it out.

No doubt the ohbh down the line. I have to give a lawn mower reaction in my head on those shots.lol

right now is hitting at the net, when the balls drops down on the opponent side, unreturnable, a cheap shot indeed

The last shot I hit that wins the point for me after being on the defensive for three or four shots. Especially if my opponent has run me back and forth for those shots.

Shots that give me the most satisfaction are ones I've been working on recently. Been working on improving my slice serve, so one with a lot of curvature, landing in the corner, and getting an UE from my opponent, brings a lot of satisfaction, because its effort and practice rewarded.

Then theres the perfect smash, with good form, power, placement. Always feels good.

Backhand cross court service return winner. There is just something special about hitting that angle where the server doesn't even have a chance to move toward it much less get it.
