What string does Head LM Radical come prestrung with?

I looked at the small print on the string of my prestrung LM Head Radical 98 sq in., and it says "head synthetic gut". Well, my question is what exact string is this?

Head Synthetic Gut PPS, Head FXP control, Head FXP power, and Head ETS Power.

If its says head synthetic gut on the string, it will be head synthetic gut. If it says FXP control, it will say FXP Control and so on and so on.

I haven't bought Head's FXP strings recently, but a couple years ago the FXP strings had "synthetic gut" printed on them plus "FXP Control" elsewhere. Once I got it strung, I couldn't see the FXP part so it probably got cut off or caught up in the knot. This is why I'm checking.. just to be sure. I actually like the prestrung stuff and want to see what a fresh set of this particular string feels like. With that being said, I think you are right that it probably is just Head's synthetic gut PPS stuff.

I don't think you can get this string. PPS has PPS printed on it. This is different. Just as Wilson prestrung racquets come with Ultra which has been replaced by Extreme. They must be using up old stock.

Since it only says Head Synthetic Gut, I would assume it is Head Synthetic Gut, as this is all that is printed on this string, it only says Head Synthetic Gut on the string and nothing else. Enclosed is picture of Head Synthetic Gut.

Hey thanks! Is this stuff still sold somewhere? I don't see it on tenniswarehouse.

I think you're right. I see some reels available on random sites but not the individual packs. It seems that maybe they have discontinued it and are slowly running out.

^^^ Yep, that would be the one. It was not listed among the strings in the RSI String Selector chart, nor was Wilson Ultra or Dunlop Comfort Synthetic. I'm thinking that it's been discontinued.
Head is phasing out Andre's image in favor Djokovitch and Sharapova.
For that matter, the Liquidmetal series is pretty old, too.

interesting.. do you know how similar or not Head's PPS synthetic gut is to its original? I would think they hold similar properties.

PPS is softer, less durable and more powerful. You may get a closer feel with PSGD or Wilson Stamina.
