i love watching fast surfaces, especially carpet. the ball just wizzes by. and it's interesting watching the players adjust their strokes to handle the quickness.

Medium paced HC, I guess this is like AO... Allows all kinds of players to excel on it, really interesting.

Hardcourt by a long shot:

- The ball is easy to see
- The court looks (and is) clean
- No weird bounces
- Grinders can't grind
- The game is more enjoyable at that speed.

I like modern day grass courts, the ones in the 1990's were just too fast.

The surface now is natural, looks great, is good on the body, doesn't bounce ridiculously high, and it has a good pace to it.

All of the top 5 really enjoy the surface too and there have been some amazing matches over the past 3-4 years.

Those courts were carpet the whole time? Dang, I thought they were hardcourts.

I like to watch matches on grass and hardcourts. I guess I like grass because I really would like to experience what it's like to play on grass.

well.. technically, they are taraflex or other Gerflor surfaces, wich the brand maker refers to as some sort of carpet... but it's not the same kind of carpet we use at homeif you ever wondered!

as for grass, only tried it by using a portable tennis net over a nice public lawn... good enough to get an idea still! :)

Oh, I always thought that it was the same carpet we use in our homes. Silly me.

That's not a bad idea, but I would like to really experience tennis on a actual grass court. I would imagine a nice public lawn isn't going to have lines or to be completely flat.

the one i tried was extremely flat and very welll cut but no lines... i just fooled around exchanging forehands and backhands for the fun of it!

I love the strategy of clay. How a winner must be set up. How a player has to "open up" a court in most cases to hit a winner. It can get boring with two pushers. It sure beats watching 55 aces in a match at Wimby.

I did. :)

I think green clay is more equitable to different styles of play than red clay. Depending on how wet it is, it can play like a hard court. On TV, the ball is also easier to see.
