What tennis shoes do you have?

what brand were your running shoes joe? did you like them or were they meh? narrow feet? wide feet? i've done the adidas route and it used to be the barricades ran a bit wider than the feathers. the durability is much better on the barricades (although i'm just into my newest batch of feathers but i've worn all the way through the sole and midsole of the old feathers at the toe). i don't play more than once a week or so (but i'm hoping the ball machine's arrival bumps that number up quite a bit!) so i played for years in my last pair of barricades.

since you were playing in running shoes, did you have any problems with your toes? just curious...

I had some some Reebok ones. I'm not sure what they were because I just picked them up from a shop (they weren't specialist ones or anything). They weren't great. They were good when I go running, but not so much when I play tennis. I find that they were too wide, my foot would rub against them too much and slide around the sole.

I was actually looking at the Barricade 7 NDs on this site and they looked pretty good. I imagine they will help me beat my tennis partner as they always have me darting about the place trying to return. (my running shoes are rather heavy & weigh quite a bit).

No my toes seemed fine for the most. They would feel kind of cramped at times but other than that they were okay. I did however get a lot of pain on the balls of my feet?

i'm not surprised. whatever tennis shoes you go with you'll find they have more cushioning in the ball of the foot than any running shoe does.

its probably a good thing that you weren't hung up on getting reeboks since i haven't seen those in about 9 years. lol! (although i have heard that adidas and reebok are owned by the same company).

I have tried a lot of tennis shoes and I have settled on Lotto Raptor Ultra IV Speed. Great feel and comfort. Very little break in period too. They feel great out of the box but to get molded to your feet took about half an hour or less.

Currently using the new New Balance 996 for something diffrent as they have sole warranty which isnt available on Nike here in Australia. No as comfy as the Nikes and the sold tread depth looked good but seem to be wearing out quickly.

Current faves are Adidas Barricade Boost 9, Adidas Adizero Feather III, and Adidas Adizero Ubersonic.

All time favourites are probably the aforementioned Ubersonic, and Nike Court Ballistec 4.3

Current Gel Resolution 5 but seriously considering switching to the new Addidas Barricade Boost.
Have been verry happy with the GR5's.

Diadora suck. really poor cushioning....they claim low to the ground feel but it is bad for your knees
I use scholls insoles too. Love em. Light and easy to move around quick. Great traction and not as heavy. No knee problems at all. Some of my friends are switching to them as well and they have the same feedback. I've had about 5 pairs so far, more to follow.

Would these ones be the greaterererest then? http://www.tennis-point.co.uk/adida...s/uk/froogle&gclid=CL-Fjqbgy8YCFQgGwwod-dcCXQ

You say get schools insoles @borg number one ?

Adidas feel a bit heavy to me, but they're extremely good shoes. No doubt. Durable, great traction for sure. I like lighter shoes personally.

I've liked using these insoles as well:

GuGa Kuerten used to wear those. I think he still does even though he doesn't play anymore. he doesn't even play champions tour

I prefer the Asics Gel Challenger, as they are lighter weight than the Resolutions and have enough support and comfort.

Yes, as did Bjorn Borg, Pat Cash and plenty of others. The company has made a resurgence since 2010. They were at one time, the best shoes around and they'll eventually get more top pros to endorse them. I've seen them worn out on Tour especially by European players.
