    "Inferno"

the usual sequel problems, only worse -- make it noisier, more chaotic, and faster paced than the original -- and it will be less enjoyable.

I went to see Hacksaw Ridge yesterday with @oztennisfan and it was really really good, I really recommend this movie to everyone and to @CivicLx as I know you love heroic war movies and this is one of those and it's also a True Story!! It's very graphic though, so if you don't like that don't see it, otherwise if you don't mind that then go see it!!

Oh yeah I definitely want to see it! I'm hoping that we might be able to go see it this Tuesday. I'm not even sure if it's still playing here but I'm sure it is. Glad to hear that you liked it.

Yeah I got about 10 frights in the movie, I was jumping every few mins, it would be quite, then loud, then quite, then loud!! No one else seemed to be getting a fright except me though!:eek:

I haven't heard term " fright" often. Is that female lingo or Aussie lingo? Don't we use "scare" instead?

Saw Arrival. But first a question. The theater we normally attend has upgraded to electric reclining lounge chairs with foot rests (they also serve wine and beer)- but the "thing" is, they require you to choose your seats from a chart before entering the theater. Problem is, you are stuck with those seats. What if you get seated next to noisy talkers or a bunch of squirley kids. Isn't it better to allow people to go inside, look around, and seat themselves as would suit them best. Thoughts?

Arrival was not a typical big budget sci-fi flick. It was low key, slow moving, sort of thoughtful. Acting was OK. Not sure that the internal logic held up/ made sense- it was kind of hard to concentrate with my neighbors passing around food with crinkly wrappers and asking each other to explain what was going on- in loud whispers.

Saw Edge of Seventeen. It was a paint by numbers kind of movie- I could predict what was going to happen step-by-step, down to actual words. Still, it was better than a lot of stuff out there.

Got home and Saw Stardust Memories on TV. It holds up well- one of the best.

Judging by the trailer this is clearly the greatest movie ever made. This is the Citizen Kane of this century and blows 2001 into the dust.

Moana - school break and young kids dictate much of my free time. It's a standard Disney flick but pretty well polished and keeps the narrative singularly driven. Not nearly as jumpy from storyline to storyline. The kids enjoyed it. I thought it was okay. I would prefer to have them not latch on to this one and have to see it another fifteen to fifty times once it hits the home market.

    "Manchester by the Sea"

Well made subdued (and long) drama of men struggling with their emotions. Bring caffeine.

My mom and I watched Allied this passed week and we both really enjoyed it. I think it could have done with a bit more tension but we still had a good time:)

Thanks:) Allegiant is part of the Divergent series right? I'm not sure if I have seen that one. I think I've only seen the first one. Sorry to hear that you guys didn't like it.

Ahh, I liked Benjamin Button. I really liked the part where...if I can remember correctly...Cate is holding baby Benjamin as he passes away and says goodbye to him. That was sad:(

Finally watched TKJ, and It was only just OK in my opinion.

Though I felt the first part of the movie was somewhat deviated from the rest of the content. I thought it would be mainly centered around the joker, but alas, it did not feel that way and was disappointed.

Watched Wonder Woman (2009) - animated DC film, just absolutely loved it, really liked how WW was portrayed and as usual, DC provides excellent quality in their animated movies. Gotta love Wonder Woman

Also watched Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox (2013) - another animated DC film. Pretty grim story, but interesting concepts about altering timelines within the DCU.

Inferno: Nice to see a bunch of environmentalist whackos as the villains who are bent on killing 50-75% of the population in the name of saving the earth. Usually it's some corporation or the CIA.

Police squad/naked gun III. The one where drebin walks into the paternity ward, wrong room, black baby and he chases nordberg (oj simpson) to end it. Police squad/naked gun are very funny to me. Like when prisicilla pressley was on the attic ladder in a skirt and drebin said nice beaver, she had a stuffed one.

10 things i hate about you, also a great movie
