Hunger Games. Not bad at all for something aimed at the adolescent audience.

Portrait of Jennie (1948 ) - interesting. Jennifer Jones and Joseph Cotten. An artist falls in love with a mysterious girl.

Saw that a month back. I saw a whole bunch of so-called sci-fi movies till i decided I was better off watching old movies :)

Last week, I watched Sharknado again. This time, me and my friend decided to make it into a drinking game. That didn't turn out so well...

Flight with Denzel Washington. Very good. Was surprised to learn it's Robert Zemekis' first live action film since Castaway in 2000. Artificial environments sure aren't appealing

Elmer Gantry - won Burt Lancaster an academy award. Smart talking salesman peddles religion along with an evangelist.

The Man in the White Suit (1951) - a chemist invents a fiber that does not break or get dirty. Old movie, interesting. Alec Guiness.

It is a very slow film, but strangely beautiful and engrossing.

    Captain Phillips

A metaphor of twenty-first century America, particularly the final scenes with the might of the Navy ganging up on a few hapless middle eastern thugs. Well made and exciting.

I thought this was a good laugh. not great but definitely not 2/10. I like Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn together, funny duo. Their interview with BJ Novak was absolutely hilarious.

The Internship - 120 minute Google advertisement. 2,5/10

Insidious - Quite entertaining, though I must've missed the highly praised shock moments. I give up on horror films,
some of them are entertaining but that's about it. Nothing scary about that genre. 6/10

The Hurt Locker - Great war film. Enjoyed it thorughout. 8/10

I watched a movie last night on Netflix called Assault on Wall Street (2013). It's about a blue collar guy from NYC who loses everything, literally, his job, wife, his house, etc... due to the financial crises. So he decides to exact revenge on the people responsible for the economy crises like the stock brokers, and CEO's. I was hoping for a little more action, but overall it was pretty good.

Give it another go sometime. It's a pretty good movie actually. I liked it a lot. You definitely have to get farther than 15 to appreciate it.

Original, memorable story. Well made and played.
Plus, I thought Amanda Seyfried looked supa-hot as a cool short-haired redhead.

In time was really good. Excellent social commentary of the current day too. Basically how much money you have dictates how long you live. Not alot of original movies these days, Timberlake kills it imo.

    This week I have re-watched.

    The Hobbit.
About a guy who goes on a journey with some surly bearded dudes.

    Danny Deckchair.
About a guy who takes an outing in an aluminum chair powered by balloons.

    Buffalo Solders.
Kinda like Breaking Bad except they eat burgers instead of using hazmat suits to protect them against the toxic fumes.

To Have and Have Not (1944) - Bogart and Lauren Bacall.

Reminded me a lot of Casablanca which was a good feeling. Set in Martinique and the Vichy regime/French resistance.

Bacall was 19 years old, and it was a tad hard imagining her falling for old Bogart. During the filming of the movie, a real life romance developed between the two and they got married. HB broke up with his third wife.

Not too sure about the story of the movie. It's based on Hemingway's novel but a lot is altered. Plot seemed a little weak.

Bogart was 44 at the time, a generation older than Bacall but still a tolerably vital age.

I had read the book so my expectations for this were very low but I came away entertained. It's not bad. If you liked it, I wonder how you'll like the book. For starters, Reacher is 6'4", 230lbs...
Loved the cast and the first 30min of the film are very captivating. It tapers off a bit but I still think this is one underrated action/scifi/thriller type.
Saw it. I officially hate Seaworld.

King's Row - Enjoyed it. Set in 1890. A bunch of children who grow up, their lives, and problems and how they stand by one another.

Ronald Reagan, Ann Sheridan (also in The Man who came to Dinner) and Robert Cummings (also in Dial M for Murder).

Strangely panned by critics of that time, and had a lot of problems with the Hays Code. Critics seemed to have found it depressing and grim, but I found it quite uplifting.

Good film. I just wished they would have told how it really happened. There is a doc on Netflix that has a lot of members of the crew telling what really happened. It's more interesting. A lot of the stuff Phillips is shown doing in the film, the crew actually did.

Rush. A very good flick if you love racing.

    All is Lost

A film with a cast of exactly one person --- Redford lost at sea. He tries, but his facial expressions only give a limited insight here. A good effort.
