    Fading Gigolo (2013)

Woody Allen, John Turturro, Sharon Stone

Found the first half funny and the second half sad and touching. Liked it.

Under The Skin (2013) - Scarlett Johansson.

Tough movie to follow, an alien comes to Earth and slowly turns "human" ???

    ^ Even voluptuous doesn't come close. Nor does well-endowed, well-hung, well-furnished etc.

Interesting story of a guy ... (spoiler) whose life starts going to pieces.

Expendables 3, with Mel Gibson and Harrison Ford. Oddly enough, it was enjoyable with Löwenbräu and Flaming Sambuca.

Reminds me of this guilty pleasure, inspired by the film https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ru2tsT32pHA&hd=1

Last I watched,Boyhood(2014). Quite good, but a little disappointing given how much I had looked forward to it and how epic I thought it would be,doesn't quite justify the 3 hour runtime IMO...

Hmm, interesting. I found 1 a lot better than 2. I was really disappointed because 2 seemed like it would be better than the first. Hard for me to get excited about the 3rd but might watch.

Had a lot of potential, expected a very satisfying film, but it was a let-down.

^^ this film failed for me because it seemed like the cast couldn't keep straight faces while doing a serious story. Clooney likes to work with his pals and probably ran too loose a ship as director.

Went and saw Guardians of the Galaxy last night and was not disappointed. Batista was good as Drax, and Groot was so loveable.

I watched over an hour of Dawn of the Planet of the Apes but finally gave up. Really bad. Pathetic, in fact.

Why can;t they EVER think of something more original than humans wiping out other species ?

Humans getting wiped out by others species? Nah,probably been done as well. I agree,I'm not fussed on fastasy,sci-fi etc. I prefer dramas based on real people, the humans condition

Tim Burton tried to re-do an 'Apes' film but made a pigsear of it. I don't know why they bother. Its like the later Star Wars films; these are films that have a place in history and are of their time. There's nothing to improve upon.

The latest film I saw was Olympus Fallen. Good action film, but basically a re-hash of Die Hard.

I actually still refuse to acknowledge Rocky V. To me, the franchise ended with Rocky IV.

Yeah that one was ok. It has one of the best lines in any film...something like "it's not about how many times you get knocked down, it's about how many times you get back up"......something like that.

Which is of course totally incorrect. In most boxing matches if you get knocked down 3 times in a round it's a TKO, so getting back up the third time is pointless.

He obviously wasnt referring to a single bout.. Its been some time since ive seen it, but dont think he was even referring to boxing, but life in general :) You know Rocky can be pretty deep

No movies of late. Have just begun watching a TV series called Extant.

(It has the Looper kid in it, and Halle Berry)

    Nothing worth recommending.

Watched a bunch of the Rambo movies today. Before that I watched the first Terminator when it came on. Terminator 2 was my favorite of the two growing up, but I probably appreciate the first one more now.

    James Bond 007 Skyfall.

After all the praise I heard, I am disappoint. Seemed like your regular, run of the mill action movie. Big explosions, vehicles chases etc. Was pretty bored.

Before that watched Jiro Dreams of Sushi. Really enjoyed it, could've been a little shorter though.

It was a decent movie for the kids...I "went along" with two six-year old girls and a nine-year old boy...they all loved it!
