Yesterday, Sasha played his first match under the direction of new coach Lendl, and showed crearly best performace between all of favorites 2018 ATP US Open in 1R.

In New York, he has not gone further than in 2R, but this year he will go deeper IMO. With Lendl's cooperation, the existing Sasha's complex from the GS format may be completely eliminated. How far does Sasha move? In my opinion, it is now most likely to be either QF or SF and lost by Cilic or Djokovic / Federer.

In all seriousness, I think Mahut is a bad matchup for him and he could easily lose 2nd round.

Otherwise he'll probably lose in the 4th round to Nishikori.

He has the shots to go far but needs to build up physically still. Seven BO5 in a row is rough stuff. Of course if he begins to go through like the 1st match chances go up to go deeper.
And no, Cilic isn't where he'll eventually fall.

We are talking in English, not in German, so Sasha is correct.

Sasha is a unisex given name which originated in Eastern and Southern European countries as the shortened version of Alexander and Alexandra. It is also used as a surname, although very rarely. Alternative spellings include: Саша (Sasha – Russian, Serbian), Сашо (Sasho– Bulgarian), Саше (Sashe – Macedonian), Saša (Slovenian, Serbian, Bosnian, Croatian, Czech, Slovak, Latvian, Lithuanian), Sașa(Romanian), Sasza (Polish), Сашко (Sashko – Ukrainian), Sascha (German), Sasja (Swedish), and Sacha (Dutch).

Alexander writes it as 'Sascha', so does his entire family and even the ATP as well. That's his nickname. 'Sascha', not 'Sasha'. Names and nicknames aren't supposed to be translated to whatever languages are being talked, they're meant to remain the same so we can always identify the person they represent.

So why we accept to write Brazil in English while the original Portuguese is Brasil?

It's not equivalent. Or do you see people in this forum or in any other media translate Rafa (from Rafael) into other languages? What about Masha (from Maria), Nole (from Novak), Muzza (from Murray), Pancho (from Ricardo)... All those nicknames should change when translated into other languages but remain the same.

Both spellings are perfectly acceptable. Sascha/Sasha/Alex/Alexander/Zverev jr/Z/Zedbot himself doesn’t care what people choose to call him. Why you should care so much about “sh” vs “sch” boggles the mind :confused:

Why so much dislike for Zverev. Reminds me of hate for Bouchard.

He is arrogant but so was Federer, he will change as he matures. My prediction is Semi-Finals and if meant to be either Finals or WIN.
