What would be Sinner's legacy if he beats Nadal to claim his FO ?

You shouldn't hide behind the hypothetical nature of it. Let's be honest here. Sinner could not even straight set an awful, ancient Djokovic and needed a Medvedev collapse to lift the trophy. He's not touching prime Federer.

“Prime Fed” is not just any old hypothetical, though. How could any of us have reliable information on what was going on in 10,000 BC?

I love it when people bring he couldn't beat this player so how he will do against x players ( he never played a match) or how he played so well against that player ,so he will easily beat Y player ( my favourites from ttw scholars) ironically when used the same logic against them they start mental gymanstics.

I think you don’t understand what a legacy is, one or two slams for someone’s career that is just starting doesn’t sum up their legacy.

Federer, Nadal, Novak all have legacies, do you see the difference?

We keep having little kids that want to jump 10yrs+ into the future and fantasize about unicorns and aliens all the time SMH

It would mean little to nothing imo, Nadal's body is as broken as it can be, he hasn't played a decent tennis since 2022 Wimbledon and this is obviously his farewell season and the only reason he's still playing. Hurkacz beating Federer has the same weight.

Hurkacz didn't beat Fed to win his Wimbledon title. If Sinner beats Rafa in final then it be much bigger

It would be big, but not because he beat Nadal imo. Ned is not even a shadow of his former self, just a player who is using his last opportunity to say good bye to his fans.

The question in relation to 'legacy' seems wrongheaded, and even without the idea of legacy.
If Sinner beats a washed-up Nadal a the French, so what? And if Nadal is playing poorly, it would be the same for anyone who beat him.
Given Nadal's age and absence from the game, i don't understand the relevance of it as a question anyway.

Sinner just beat AO's strongest man to claim his maiden slam, will his haters especially @CHillTennis and other sons give him his due credit if he beats Nadal to claim his second slam this year at RG? Beating AO God and RG God to claim their first two slam is a huge task.
If Nadal enters and plays RG, SInner is not beating him. IDC how much he goats, he aint beating Nadal. Sorry

Sinner fans I think we can praise Sinner without putting Carlos down, let's be nice to him, he's also a generational talent like Sinner, albeit less talented than him.

Me too, Nadal will probably push for it as he already said he does not want him playing tennis.

Nadal is a rabid football fan and he is quite okay at football ( played in his younger days) so, I see him pushing him to football even though I want him to play tennis, hope grandpa Toni intervenes lol

Nope, Sinner beating Nadal in RG final is the story we need. It will elevate Sinner's hype and legacy off the roof.
I never liked seeing Nadal lose at RG and much less would I like it to happen in the final of that tournament.
I wish the good sinner all the best but against the Spanish bull both in the major tournament and also in the Paris Olympic Games I will go all out in favor of the tennis legend.

Bull fans are weird. Sone are saying beating Rafa at this stage in RG final means nothing and some are saying bull in RG final is favourite. It seems Sinner can't win no matter what.

Beating Nadal at RG final is always big, before semi? I don't think so.

Will Sinner achieve the gold medal for his country at this 2024 Olympics?

No, we are only talking about the preference of a certain player and not the potential result of the match.
They are two different things.

What makes you think that Sinner is going to be a force on clay? Win a first clay M1000, and then we'll talk!
Define a force on clay.

Is tsitsipas a force ? 2 masters and 2 more masters finals and 1 RG final
Is zverev a force? 3 masters multiple RG semis and a final
Is Thiem a force? zero masters but multiple RG semis and 2 finals
None of these farces are true forces on clay. Even Murray achieved what they achieved and Murray didn't win a title on clay until age 28.

There has not been a great clay player post the Nadal and Djokovic period.

Sinner's bar is what? Better than Andy Murray on clay? He will definitely be.

Better than Djokovic? That is yet to be seen.

Sinner is just a skidmark on Nadal's toilet, and even 40-year-old Nadal will be smoking Sinner.
Total mismatch, and we pray that they meet at RG every year for the next 3 years.
